I personally would probably get one of the alloy ones at this point, but I also think it would probably be a non-issue under normal use. My problem is that I installed the tailgate seal and followed the instructions to not close the tailgate. The warping caused the adhesive to give out on the seal and it hasn't fully stayed sealed since. So that's 30 bucks I won't get back. :/

Glad you were able to get it fatten out. Does not look to bad at all. Good to point out the difference of plastic vs metal (aluminum). Be careful in hot sunny day, if the tailgate is left open.

I do leave my tailgate open when at the beach. Often use as a table , and I keep some fishing gear in the bed of the camper.

I was trying to save some money, not realizing the sun could become a problem. Then again throwing a towel on top or a piece of rug or plywood on top of the tailgate, May solve this too. $169.00 is a good deal compare to what is price around. And Hooke Road is well made! & Looks very nice!

I have had one for a year now, the best dollar for dollar mod I have made to the truck without a doubt.

I agree worth buying. I would buy this one again. Sure it will get mark up and scratched up. But climbing on and off the gate feels much more comfortable.

Well this one is a disappointment, it surely is a piece of chinese shit. Being a CNC machine operator myself I struggle to see how they managed to have so many holes not even close to lining up. I'm afraid to measure it, it's probably an inch wider at one end than the other.

Ah well, I have a dremel with some awesome burrs so it will eventually fit and do the job I bought it for.

But if you feel pain in the presence of ridiculously jacked-up, hung over on a Monday shit for brains workmanship you may want to pass on this tailgate panel.

Sorry for your disappointment. Was this the original “Hooke Road “? Or a copy? I have notice “copies that copies American made products resemble America made products and the ADS. Sold on Amazon.

Mine was a perfect fit, no tailgate closing problems. Every single screw hole fit perfectly on my 2019 Tacoma tailgate. I had NONE problems with the screw holes on my “Hooke Road tailgate cover.

I saw an article over 40% of stuffs on Amazon comes from China and with China address. And there copies on Amazon looks real. Even the the feedbacks ( feedbacks cannot be trusted- I always search for the bad reviews which seems more real).

I believe the reason for the cheaper prices were copies from China. Please report this to Amazon , if you purchase from Amazon. I have notice this problem with other Tacoma aftermarket products , the China copies will find those products with huge sales and make copies that will be cheaper. And looks like the originals.

Amazon needs to monitor those copy cats or they will start getting a bad reputation and lose sales.

it is getting “worst” to trust the Chinese companies. The products will be made with cheaper materials, very cheap labors, “ great advertising “ that will fool lots of people. American “dollars” are gold to the Chinese economy. They will try to get as much as they can.” Just my thoughts and I have been wrong before.”

Hawaii Chinese foods are a flavorite, especially the roasted Chinese ducks.
American dollar can buy 7 times and maybe more in China,vs the Chinese dollar.

I have the same problems other folks have reported with these. Some come out of the box fine and drop right in others need work to fit. It will look and work good when I'm done with it. It's a sturdy piece of plastic that's for sure.

At first I was concern of my Hooke Road tailgate cover been made of plastic. Metal, plastic or cutting board materials, they will all get scratched up, We all slide thing across our tailgates. I purchase mines because it flat ,easy to seat on , crawl over into the truck bed.

I consider this a great add-on for my Tacoma and would do this again. Same brand too. Much more comfortable on the knees! It was worth the price !

Did some mounting hole adjustments and got it installed today. I'm happy with it now it looks good and will be much nicer on the knees when climbing into the bed.
The is no excuse for so many holes being so far off though, that was ridiculous!

Hooke Road ? Not sure if the Chinese made are copy cats, reason for the holes been off? The original Hooke Roads fits perfectly.

Yes I am really “happy with mines”!
