Awesome! Looks like he's from the same gene pool as the one Cole shot. Has the 3rd main beam growing?

Same gene pool, same hunting spot too! The third main beam looks almost identical as the one Cole shot

This is the only deer we saw yesterday, he walked 5 yards by the blind, she shot him at 60 yards and hit him low in the spine. He didn’t go anywhere and she didn’t mess up any meat :hungry:

That deer broke his brow tine off his good side and a tine off his rooster side. We called him rooster :D

Muzzleloader hunted this year for the first time in years. Shot nothing but my phone camera and had a ball just watching. I got to see a yearling fawn nurse last night for the first time. Young bucks trying to get a doe just to be rejected.
When I was younger I measured my hunting success by the number of kills I made. Anymore I just enjoy my time in the woods.

Rifle season opened here yesterday, seen some movement. Also temps dropped so should get them moving more. Saw one doe out back at last light, could have popped her but going to see what shows up.

Built a new Deer rifle so looking forward to trying it out. Well, it’s a rifle I can hunt with also but to damn heavy to use regularly I’ll go back to the Browning

Didnt want to share till i knew the outcome. an older guy from my church hunts the mountains not far from where we hunt. its big mountains. well he never came out last evening. search teams searched all nite. it got down to 30* with 20 mph winds. wasnt looking good. Well Praise to our God. they found him alive and well. he is diabetic and his sugar dropped. got disorented,so hunkered under low hanging white pine with leaves and limbs pulled up like a nest. limited pics to protect his privacy. And my oldest is still in the woods now with a nice bow kill down. damn thing wont die. its not going anywhere and waiting for it to expire. what a day. getting more cancer cut out tommorow. will be back hunting by Thurs. good luck all. one pic is a game warden friend of ours. cuffing him so he doesnt get lost again07B371B4-FE79-4E17-8A01-6CF77B512091.jpg2BA080C7-63A4-42EE-B917-D10340242F61.jpg

I do at least 2 to 3 expedition hunts a year for +/- 5 days at a time. Almost always my garmin 64st with the onx goes out from the cold sometime during a trip. So I stay old school and keep a map, protractor and compass. I use the gps if a land is in question, but I pretty much do all navigating (glass points, bivy points, animal pos, non-trail paths, plotted points, reverse azimuth) stuff like that.

I would learn this as it’s the most reliable way to go if you venture into deep to places and far off any beaten path.
