60+ year old thread.

While I appreciate the sentiment when people thank me for my service... I'd rather they just let it go. I don't see anything I did as deserving of notice or making a big deal out of it. Just like most of us, we did what we felt was necessary at the time just like any person does when working any job or raising their kids.
If someone wants to appreciate military service let them go to a cemetery where the headstones are in perfect rows and all look alike. And think about what it means to take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights... and not divide the country over minor disagreement.

 

Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Back to checking the greenhouse temps on the phone when I get up. Everything did its job, so far. Might make a little tweak today for the heater set point. Tonight, will be a better test, as they just issued the Freeze Warning.

 

Well, here's a few shots from our local car show today. About 35-40 cars.
These are pretty lame compared to Kurt's car show photos but what the heck...it was fun and I got to park next to another Tacoma.
Mine's the white one.

 

I like it Art! I didn't go freeze my stuff off this morning. SA at 1:20 drive in the early to see 28* is a NAH! Only one of my friends went, and he said he wasn't. There is a small show I just found out about here in town, and I may see what that is like later this month.

Good Morning Porch Peoples! Boy, what can I say about my Horns. That was an offensive game! Defense played great though.

Nice work Bill!

 

Defense played with their hair on fire from the first snap. TCU had no answer for the edge rush, especially that freshman.
And even my guys found a way to win. 67 yards on final drive to score with 14 seconds left.

 

I saw that USA Today (online) declared BC one of the "winners" in their winners and losers column! I should have copied the web for ya!

Congrats on getting your buck Bill, looks like an Excalibur that got the job done !!!

My buddy has seen a dandy buck 4 times so far, he saw it again this morning with some does but he just can't seem to get a break on having a good chance to get it.

 

I'm ready for the next camping trip/meteor shower.

The last time I was so memorized I kept leaning too far back in my camp chair, flipping it over.

Leonids Metour Shower should be good on November 17/18.

Thanks Dennis, I was smiling and tired . Never came out of the blind the day before . Hunted some rough territory for 2 days in a different part of the state before that .

 

I enjoy the view from the porch, plus closer to the bathroom lol

 

We do have plans for 5 person enclosed stalls with 3 urinals. Showers will still be separate single stall rooms for accommodating our ladies. Trying to finalize the plans.

 

Did the designer pick the colors yet Mike?
