I rarely post here but just wanted to stop in and say this is the best tune yet. Its just spectacular. The truck drives like it should. Finally.

I have about 2-3 inches of lift, 35s, and 5.29s on TRD Offroad with an automatic and I can now cruise down the hwy and hold speed easily. Not to mention get up to speed quickly. (relative to what the vehicle is, not a race car. Had to say it because you know someone was gonna)

I have had OV tune and Kdmaxx pro tune and neither were quite right. OTT is spot on. No more lurching and lunging. Smooth all around.

I can also pass without fear now. I came very close to selling my third gen but I'm keeping it now. $800+ in tunes later....lol.

    @drym4rch0n

That's cool that you speak from experience...having had the OV & KDMaxx tunes.

Of course, this is just your honest opinion. (which cost you $800+) lol

OTT is my one and only tune and I've adjusted from Medium/Mild to Lite/Mild setting...this last update included Gear Lock.

Hope you keep your Taco for a while and enjoy that Tune!

Currently running KDmaxx 7.0 and interested in the newer tunes. Is is possible to purchase the locked files and flash my own truck using vftuner, just as I have with every other tune to date? Or does OTT require me to pay someone else to flash it for me?

    Having trouble finding that info.

I purchased VIN-locked files and flashed myself. They can get you sorted if you email them.

This is good to know as Allan did my tune and I am right at the PA/DE border and driving to him is a bit too far for me so I just wait until he’s in my area and try to catch up with him!

Is there a difference between an overland torque tune and overland tailor tune?

The "Overland Torque Tune" is made by Overland Tailor Tuning (Both being OTT).

Thanks, so when I talk to my tuner, should I request a torque tune or will he just provide me the best option based on my driving style, etc?

If your tuner is within our network definitely talk to him/her about your needs and what you're looking to get from your truck. Be sure to mention any specific concerns or special requests. Some of our tuners offer a tunes from various sources and it's important to us that you get what is right for you.

You don't need to specifically ask for our torque tune, just let them know you'd like to try OTT and they'll set you up. There's a few different 'flavors' of the tune which you can try. We've developed it in a way that has a wide range of settings to meet the diverse needs/wants of our client base. I'm certain you'll find something that will fit the bill, however sometimes a truly custom calibration is required and we're happy to work with you if that's what's required to meet your needs.

No project is too big or too small for us.

Got this tune (self-installed) 9.0 OTT Lite-Mild on my 2020 Tacoma with 33” and 5.29 gears and can honestly say it’s the best tune I’ve ran in the truck so far. John was great through the whole process.

Looking forward to the next versions (if they release more) but it’s the best driving experience I’ve had in the truck since I bought it.

    A+

It would only be relevant for 3rd Gen 3.5L Tacoma's. But it is out for all 2016-2023 3.5L Tacoma's.
