    600 miles/1 quart of oil? My dad used to say about oil burners (in the day of full serve gas stations) "fill it up with oil and check the gas".

    Toyota test found cam chain cover leak. Mine only leaks under high speed no oil on eng. or floor. Take your 4.0 in for a free check & fix if needed. Im doing the happy dance!!!!!

    Only leaked at over 35 lb.,at interstate speeds,Under side is clean small line on one side of cover, no drips on my floor.

    Truck is back, 3 days at dealer,So for so good. Some high speed 70-- 80 will be the test, Road trip bike week D.B. FL. or atv to the woods. This is a hard one. For now all is ok.

    Toyota of Orlando did a good job of cover leak,
    Also went over T. P. M. S., and are trying to get ok for rear springs swap out. Im at 38,500 mi. so toyota might not be easy on the fix. Also cleaned her to the max.,Best part it was all free. They earned my business down the road,good dealers are hard to come by now most are all about the $$$$$$$... Jim

    Had the truck back 10 days and all was good. Last night after short trip walked around truck and had a funny smell by the hood.Opened her up to find small bit of smoke, oil on manifold, both valve covers leaking.Can back out all bolts i can get to with my fingers.Other half wants to trade it in tomorrow (nissan) and Ive jest about HAD IT did not get a toyota to spend my life at a dealership. Toyota makes the best cars & trucks but dealers are not doing the name any good, So what would you do? Jim

    Could this be another case of the cure is worse than the disease?

    I've always thought it a wise idea to try and avoid having dealers work on my vehicles... I'd rather have a minor problem than the serious problems that come up by careless mechanics who don't torque, over torque and completely leave fasteners out. Every one which I personally have experienced with warranty repairs by dealers.
