Y'all have any recommendations for overpants and a jacket more suited for the cold weather (30-55/60)? I'm a big boy so I'm looking for things available in 4x/5X to allow for layering. I'm not wanting to spend Klim money either.

Edit: I think I'm gonna go with the Bilt Storm 2 overpants, the Bilt Blast 2 jacket, and Sedici Firenzi gloves.

I want something that is quite at low rpms but mean at higher rpms. Don't really want the neighborhood to hate me when I leave the house at 4:45am. All the slipons that fit my bike don't really tickle my pickle....Wish I had a TIG (and the skillz) for this.

Tested out the heated gear again today. This time I split the socks to run with the gloves and the pants and coat to run together. Temps were in the mid 40’s and with wind chill I am sure much colder. They worked great. Spent a good hour and a half riding with no problems. Turned them off once during the ride and it got cold quick. Can’t wait to do some more cold weather riding.

Have any of you guys painted plastic bike parts? I'm really wanting to change the color of mine to white. I think I'm gonna buy an extra fork guard to test out as it's only $12.

Just make sure you get paint that works on plastics.

I haven't used the Krylon but Rustoleum has something similar with paint and primer all in one. My experience has been that you definitely need to spray in thin coats. I have had a couple of runs when using it. Now I must also say this was on oddly shaped pieces. Just my .02

IMO, Rustoleum is superior over Krylon Fusion. I used Krylon Fusion to paint the front fairing and fender on my DRZ and it was a nightmare. It was quick to run and it produces a very thick/dusty overspray. On the plus side, it accepts 2k clear pretty well, but it takes a bunch of work to get it ready for clear coat. I much prefer going with a 3 stage primer, base, clear instead of trying to combine the primer and base coat into one step.

I think chancing it on a $12 fork guard is my best bet. I want a white bike, but not willing to go all in right off the bad  If that works....may have to do the wheels gold so I can be cooler than @fatfurious2 :D

So with Rustoleum, I'd need to spray primer, then color, then clear? I'm not a painter by any stretch :D

It's never held up for me. Always better buying plastics that are a different color IMO.

That's the problem. They don't make any aftermarket plastics for the Rally right now. I think that the 250 Rally fork guards would fit......but that's the only white plastics available.

Vinyl wrap would be a better option IMO.
I’ve painted plastics before but like others have said, adhesion is always an issue. Especially on a piece that will flex while in use. Sanding priming and then paint will net you your best outcome but it really depends on what your standards are for the finish.
I kills me when people don’t know how to properly use spray paint. Thin coats are key. You want the first coat to basically mist over the piece where it’ll look patchy and the original color can still be seen through. Then just keep layering over and over with proper flash time in between until you get full coverage. I’ve painted a whole car this way and didn’t get a single run in the finish.

I’ve also used an adhesion promoter for plastic and have had better results than painting directly. Something like this:

    https://www.autozone.com/paint-and-...VUSytBh2GRQsJEAQYAiABEgIeiPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Automotive paints used on plastic parts have an additive that keeps the finish flexible after curing. If your pieces will flex, you’ll eventually start to see hairline cracks form in the paint along the stress lines. This will lead to flaking in that area down the road.

    So like the T7? :D
I highly doubt I will do anything with the wheels. The black with American flag stickers are ok with me.
I don't care about a show quality finish, just one that will look decent and last.

The sexy blue one does. I really hope the Transalp is competitive with it. I love Honda.......but no hate for Yammie either :D
