Does anyone have a step or other fusion360 compatible file model of the long bed? Can't seem to find any references to one anywhere on here but I find it hard to believe nobody has one.

    They might be accurate?

I know that I have seen some 3D models used by some vendors here in product development pics. Not sure of their source.

I haven’t looked, but I have been debating on the “picture scale” method…

would require a decent amount of measurements, but still save a lot of time.

You could just measure out the bed and do it old school with a pencil and paper…

there are far too many advantages of using modern technology…

I'm going to be CNC cutting the cabs so they're going to be modeled one way of the other, it would just be really convenient to not start from scratch with the bed measurements

Yeah, go buy a 3D scanner and use that!

Use a LiDAR/photogrammetry app on an iPhone to create the model. Should be good for 1cm accuracy

I have been looking into them, costly to meet the requirements needed in this case and multiple other large format automotive scanning scenarios.

I would reach out to some of the more responsive vendors and see how they got their information, and if they put it together on their own, would they be willing to part with it.
I am dubious. Have an app to recommend. I haven’t seen any offer any claims as to precision, and most seem more geared towards floor plans and home decorating.
I was mostly joking. While there are advantages of technology, they are likely unaffordable and/or not as advantageous as you’d really like them to be, compared to a good ol’ tape measure, pad and pencil. It’s more grunt work, sure, but you will end up getting the dimensions that matter to you and not have to worry about the millions of points created by a 3D scan that could be wrong.

I use the Scaniverse app with good results for monitoring natural resources at work. I’m a GIS specialist and have compared the iPhone results with more robust scanners and it does surprisingly well.

There really is no substitute to building your own model if you’re not happy with what is available and you want it exactly spot on. Should be easy enough for you to create the 3D model to your specs if you’re designing products for the taco bed
