Black Rice Risotto with Black Pepper and Blue Cheese Chicken Sausge and Garlic Chili Hominy

 

I've been smoking all day.......meat! The onion rings, pickles and bbq sauce (spicy) is from my local Colters, but I smoked the sausage, turkey and drumsticks.

 

Hayward (my hometown) is a weird place. New restaurant opens up, old one closes down. Fried pork belly app at Casa del Toro. New place. Pork belly kinda has a sweet and sour thing going on. Pepper is pickled and gives a kick on the back end. Not bad at all. Presentation is a plus. Sorry I didn't cook it but had to share. Wish you guys were here.

 

I wouldn't have any idea how to eat that.

PRO TIP : Do NOT use a wooden spoon to make black rice risotto - the wood will be forever stained a nice dark purple color.

 

Which can then be sold for TOP DOLLAR as Purple Wooden Spoons ™.

If you seal them with salad bowl finish and let them properly dry, they dont stain

 

Clearly, you've never made anything with black rice.. it stains EVERYTHING! (but thank you for the tip for the next time)

We made pizza for the kids on Halloween. In all about 35 "hand held size". The solo stove pizza oven is the best camping/life purchase in years.

 

Went to las Vegas over the weekend for our anniversary where your dessert ain't shit unless they light it on fire and scare the entire restaurant. #1 is the Chocolate Tart from Morimoto @ MGM. and #2 is the Baked Alaska from Prime @ Bellagio.

 

I found a new thread! Ohhhh man my overweight ass is gonna enjoy this. Mississippi pot roast sandos coming in hot tomorrow for dinner.

 

So I’m half a year from 40 and made my first pot roast last month. Now I have to look up Mississippi pot roast to see if I need another variety.
I didn’t like the gravy packets in the recipe I used, holy saltiness Batman.
