I legitimately like figuring shit out when it's left in my hands, but really hate when someone asks for a favor and starts making suggestions with "you know...it should be pretty quick/easy if you just..."

When I start getting that feed back, the old irritable bowl syndrome starts flaring up. I don't have IBS, but it sure tones down the customers.

"Sorry, gotta hit the groaner. I might not be the guy you want for this project."

If you click on any of our profiles in this thread, you should be able to bring up any recent weld pics with a little searching.

Obviously, this with be easier on on PC, but the phones work well.

Nothing recent, on account of being busy and all.

Going to be making some sort of shelf setup, covering 8' on one wall, 2' square corner, and another 8' outward in an L shape.

Got all the square tubing cut before the fam and I took off for the weekend.

Weld-in nuts for adjustable feet arrived today so I'll work on that tomorrow or the next.

That looks great. Laying it out on the ground helps huge. It’s free space

Question for you all: I am limping along with two old California Air Tools compressors. I have more air use in my future and together they barely keep up. And as I already routinely push them past their duty cycle, surely, one or both of them will die any moment and then I will be screwed… so I am trying to keep an eye out for a good used compressor. Is a 10,000 hour kaeser just a bad idea or are they really built like tanks? (I saw a 90k hour one on eBay recently!) My mechanic friend has an sx6 going on 20 years and he swears by it. Sadly his is not available. I probably have no business buying a used compressor but I’d rather buy a used Toyota than a new Hyundai. Then again I probably wouldn’t buy a high mileage Mercedes either. Ha ha. In for a penny, in for a pound. Or something like that.

I would need to check those brand compressors as I am happy I have not been looking.

This is awesome, I might use these in the future. Which leveling mechanism do you have? The ratcheting looks most convenient for constant use.

I’ve got the ratcheting style with the little extend-o lever. It works well. But truth is I don’t “park” the table that often. It’s pretty level in my shop. I had another device with the thumb wheels and they were no good.

I know! Buying a compressor is the most joyless shop purchase. :(
