Hard to find bronze but found gold chrome lug nuts here:
    https://www.f2suspension.com/produc...GpM7S3AJFsVFCY6g4nL_g5z1tpyJCznxoC5_EQAvD_BwE
If keep plastic black center caps then could use black gorilla nuts. Good quality.

Rolled 74k miles. Was planning to sell it months ago, but with the price of diesel I've been driving it a lot more.

Today I put together my coil overs, 5100s with KYB top hats and dobinson C59-314 coil springs.

I was wondering if anyone could take a look and check my work. I’ve never used a spring compressor before, much less assembled a set of coil overs. Should my locking nut at the top get to the bottom of the threads? Does it matter? How precise do I need to be when lining up the eyelet with where it should be in relation to the bolts up top? If I’m not precise enough can I just rotate it with a pry bar? Any insight at all would be great

Looks good. You'll be ae to rotate your shock body to get the eyelet to line up. You don't need to tighten the top bolt to the bottom ofnthe threads. Just as long as your bushing is nice and smooshed (technical term). Looks like you are ready for installation.

Thank you so much, still a week and a half out from installation (next Wednesday) but everything is either in my garage or at the shop. New Bumpstops, 5100s, Icon AAL, I ordered 255/75R17 KO2s, and new TPMS sensors so I can finally get rid of that light.

Did you replace it with the same flat 4 connector or did you go to the square connector with a different resistor? I have read the wiring/connector isn't sized right for the power draw which is why it burns out and the square connector has bigger wires/connectors able to handle the load.

    I bought another one

    20221115_092812.jpg

Long story short: I moved to a different province this summer; 2006 OR doesn't pass safety to register in new province; main issue is the left cab mount broke through the rusted out cab floor; took me a month to find a body shop that would even touch it, but they had a 3 month waiting cue; didn't matter cause my insurance ran out soon after with no way to renew since it couldn't be registered until it passed safety, so my truck is technically "bricked" (I didn't want to take the risk of getting stopped by LEO without insurance). Needed a vehicle so decided to look for another Tacoma, and try to sell the '06 to someone who has time to fix it, or maybe will keep as a project. I love that truck.

I've been looking for months now, missed out on a few and was getting frustrated. So last Thursday I find a lowish mileage 2015 OR M/T for sale at a price I was ok with, but 5 hours away. Convinced the dealer on Friday to wait until I go see it before selling (even though I was 99% certain I would buy, I still wanted to see it in person first). Got financing pre-approved, and reserved a rental car with Enterprise for 8 am the next Monday morning. They call me at 7h30 on Monday to tell me their system made a mistake and that they don't rent cars for one-way trips, and that they had no cars available that day anyways. Nice. Go to the only other car rental place in town, who also doesn't rent cars for one-way trips. Thinking outside the box, I go to U-Haul, rent a small cube van for half the cost of an Enterprise car rental, and drive the thing 5 hours to have a look at the truck. Dealer is laughing his ass off when he sees me pulling in the lot. Look over the truck, test drive, all good. Drop off the cube van at a U-Haul drop-off place, register the Tacoma, and head home, pulling into my driveway at 11 pm.

It's super clean, but has a few small dents I need to pop out, plus the rear suspension seems lower than that on my '06. Might be due to the extremely heavy water-logged Bakflip tonneau cover? Will probably swap the suspension anyways seeing as my '06 has 2020 OR shocks with a 1-inch lift in the front that levels the truck. A project for the spring, no pun intended.

Sorry to hear about the 2006. You would be wise to find a fellow CA member to help you fix it. Glad you found a good 2015. Not sure about CA but in the states there is a factory recall on the secondary air pump (emissions). We had the 2012 done and they replaced some components and was totally free. I would check the Toyota web site to see what other recalls may be available for your truck. My 2008 has new rear leaf springs from another recall. The most important thing is you replaced the Tacoma with a Tacoma. Coincidentally I rented one way cars for my last 3 new purchases 3-4 hours away. Good move on the cheap Uhaul truck. 5 hours in a box truck probably felt like a daily commute in a Ford Maverick.
