I had the AT habitat before, and loved it, but wanted to move away from a tent and to solid walls. We get a lot of rain here, and drying stuff out is next to impossible. Mold and green end up growing just about no matter what. A friend got a FWC and he could not keep the canvas from staining (he was full timing up here in it). The camper... Well, his replacement camper has been good. The first was sorta a lemon but he got a replacement. He seems to be happy with it, had it a few years now.

I'm a little over a year in on my scout. 41 nights. Still love it. As does my wife. They aren't perfect, but I'd still take it over a popup, but that's my personal preference. I've only had to turn around once so far cause I didn't fit. I was on a decent off camber section and the camper was leaning over far enough it woulda hit the trees along the trail. It never felt tippy, most of the weight is down low. It was just too far out there at that angle/height. I'm one of the Admins on the Scout Camper Owners FB page. You're welcome to join and check out what folks have issues with and what they like. Just gotta answer the three questions. Doesn't matter how you answer, either. You don't have to be an owner.

Sorry if this has been posted before, but does anyone have a go to shop in the Madison/Milwaukee/Kenosha area for rust proofing? I got my truck at the end of May and am considering having it done or doing it myself. Just want to keep it in good shape. My first vehicle was an old 88 Toyota pickup that had rust holes on both sides of the frame large enough to stick your arm through. The bed was so rusted out that it was replaced with wood. Would rather not have that happen again. Y'all recommend rust proofing, like fluid film, or just take it in for regular washes throughout the winter?

I fluid film/woolwax in my driveway. I would recommend using the coating of your choice (both work well, woolwax has less odor) and regular washes throughout the winter
