I've heard a lot of complaints about modern windshields too, I wondered if it had to do with all the tech they incorporate into them now (rain and safety sensors mainly). Or if it's just a product of how they're made now compared to 10+ years ago?

Im gonna be that guy here, but, whats wrong with the Taco?

Lots of reports of the bottom dropping out of the used/new car market soon. Lotta people gonna loose their asses for paying over msrp this last year or so. Unless you know for certain you're going to keep it forever.

Yeah same here. Mine doesn't have rain tech but it has the stupid Eyesight safety stuff fitted on the glass up top, but this is more glass defects. Like waves in it. I've heard its from the more convex shapes of modern windshields as well as the sizes/angles, or just companies being cheap, but I don't know what to believe. I know its damned noticeable though, to the point I've been dailying my Tacoma.

I'm not selling the Tacoma, I just got the Subie for a DD and some other lighter duties. Tacoma isn't great for city stop and go commuting for me. I have my issues with it, but the Forester is 30mpg on my commute so far and I can cram stuff in it when needed and don't need to be precious with it, but the windshield is garbage. I got a deal on the Forester, so no big worries on losses.
Quite frankly I hope the ass falls out of the used market, I have things I'd like to buy haha

Driving here just keeps getting worse. If I had a mellower commute I'd 100% keep driving mine for it. We're super condensed and it's just aggressive stop and go nowadays. I've never owned a daily alongside one of my vehicles. I've had multiple big vehicles, like a van and a truck at the same time but that's about it.
I'd love to have a house with an outer building one day, be full steady freelance WFH and my commute can be across a lawn with a cup of coffee in my hand.

I still eyeball 3rd gen T4Rs on the regular...but it's not a necessary move yet, once circumstances require me to have more space I will - and hopefully the used car market will bottom out by then like @Blue92 mentioned.
