I haven't met anyone who owns a Hyundai/Kia that isn't happy with it. Even the neighbor likes his Genesis and he could afford anything he wishes.

Hero, my fix on that cover plate and recess for it are steam tight. The engineer said I did such a good job that I'll get to do the other end because now it's leaking :annoyed:
Good thing I saved that tool.

I had two Hyundai engines seize on me during road tests for unrelated issues. I refused to drive one after that happened.

We've owned two Hyundais. Had a 2016 awd Tuscon for a couple of years, then when my mom died we kept her little Mercedes hatch back, and traded the Tuscon and my F150 in for the Taco. I refused to buy a Tuscon with the 2 liter engine and 5 or 6 speed automatic, they are underpowered. The 1.6 turbo with the 7 speed dual clutch tranny was much better.

We now have a 2020 i30 n line, which is a slightly souped up version of the Elantra gt. We both wanted a manual transmission again, my wife wanted a hatchback for practicality, I wanted a little zip, and we don't need an SUV, so the choices that came up were Civic sport, VW GTI, and the i30, which I had never heard of. I read up a bit, it had good reviews, so we narrowed it to that or the Civic, since the GTI was 6-7 K more. Three days later, we planned to drive three cars, but two of them had sold by then, so i30 it is. It's a 2020 with 15K miles when we got it, so it still has more factory warranty than most new cars off the lot.

It's a fun car to drive, small PKG with 200hp and 195 ft lbs of torque with a 6 speed, but our first non awd in about 25 years, so we'll see how that goes in winter. Just put snows on this week, (pics are from summer).

My wife has a Civic Sport; she's had a couple of Camrys, a couple of Accords, and now a Civic.....she likes the Hondas over the Toyotas for whatever reason. We gave my son each of her Accords, he currently drives the '13 Accord. I may or may not have driven a Ridgeline for a minute. :spy:

A larger portion of the dealerships “take” comes from kickbacks and subsidies on loans and “packages” negotiated in closing. You’re better off taking the financing and immediately paying off. The only trouble is, you have to do math and read. The loan can’t have prepayment penalties or one time gotchas. Unless that cost is still cheaper. Even extended service plans have refund clauses.

Locally, we are seeing a bit of separation as dealerships are starting to get inventory. The cash cow that was used vehicles, is now converting these new vehicles (usually the more “Jane” models, packages) into trade-in inventory and more desirable new inventory.

My strategy has always been… decide what you want and shop places you can get to (air, visit, bus, whatever). Negotiate via email/text/phone/whatever… I’m fine with a one way to walk out with a done deal. Good luck out there!

Did Dodge plan on them being broke down a lot and make them so easily accessible for a reason?

I wish my wife would buy a 4runner, she don't like the Tacoma so there's no chance of that happening :pout:
