Oh that's what I'm making. I've never made it but I've made similar. This looks super easy. Dump on butter, packets, peppers and some pepper juice from the jar. Hit go. I'm going to do it in an instant pot on slow cook, since that's a ton easier to clean than a crock pot.

Because the entire thing can go into the dishwasher

I just translated this to a pork roast too.. so add that to your lists!! Back in like 2015 I translated this to Chicken Thighs as well.. so your lives are about to change. Think about using the Spicy Ranch Dip on the Chicken and Pork.

Use the Au Jus for the Beef and the Pork or Chicken gravies respectively. Use unsalted butter.

Spray the crock pot insert with non stick spray. Also.. the insert can go in the dishwasher.

I know but the insert takes up the WHOLE dishwasher. Besides the instant pot is the right size. 3 lbs.

I will be trying a few more recipes with pork loin. Adovada is a big one. Tried it under pressure and it just did not come out good. Going to try it low and slow next time instead. And with loin instead of butt.

Most of my experience is in smoking so I'm trying some new stuff

After this go around I'll have to try it with chicken thighs.

Edit - using homemade focaccia for the rolls. Slice it for bread.

You know... a disposable foil pan and you can make the Mississippi Roast in the smoker too..

    Just saying!

Also.. I'd stick with the butt over the loin for the pork.. you want the extra fat. That's just me though.

For the record.. this Mississippi stuff has been around since at least 2015.

My great aunt Glendean used to make drop biscuits with flour (from a giant bag), water (from a running faucet) and lard (from a 3-gallon Piggly Wiggly bucket).

Right hand flour. Left hand lard. Mix them under the running faucet. Place biscuit on the sheet. Boom boom boom boom.

She'd have a tray of 24 biscuits made and in the oven in less than 5 minutes. 15 minutes later...Lord Almighty - grab the butter, preserves (strawberry or peach, homemade of course), or sausage gravy (with onion, garlic, & peppers).

I am certain that God is waiting impatiently outside the dining room when she's making biscuits in heaven.

    New skill to learn: Listed.

....OKAY THEN, NOW THAT I KNOW THIS IS A THING....

I'm making some sourdough choc chip cookies maybe tonight. I use a no-egg recipe and just chuck them in the freezer and snack on them as is.... :notsure:

She'd been doing it since she was 10, and was in her 70s when I spent summers down in north Georgia, so...you're gonna have to make a million biscuits.

She made is look easy. I tried it ONCE - gotta do the scientific method (in a giant bowl) because I ain't got that kind of skill.
