What's the lesson though? That no name pre bent tubes suck?

The sources of these products in my experience. These could be fine, hence my use of "questionable." But my times of disappointment have involved poor material usage; descriptions that aren't true/correct. And a lack of customer service after the sale. And it's especially true in automotive-related parts. It's a crap shoot as far as quality. I mean, if it doesn't work for exhaust, you can use it for railing according to the title.

The lesson is that you often get what you pay for.

Listen, this was the best idea I’ve ever had. Zero setup or tear down at camp and being protected from the wind was money. It was low 30s and I didn’t even need my sleeping bag. The electric blanket on the lowest setting and the comforter was all I needed. Plenty of room to stretch out too.

I'll need pics for proof. Holding a recent newspaper as verification.

This is why I love sleeping in the back of the 4runner too. No setup or tear down is sooooo nice

It was really awesome. All I want to do is make setting up the platform itself easier but that’s not too difficult. I may even make a second platform just for sleeping versus using the one I already have back there and shimming it with storage totes and medical books.

I like that first one, seems pretty solid. Brown plugs, metal tools, other supporting tools, soft sided case.

Seems the harbor freight one is pretty close to the same but with a hard plastic case and double the plugs.... but the hard plastic case may take up a bit too much space.

My first plug kit was the arb one and had a similar case. It was just unnecessarily large for what it was carrying. I like the soft case, could probably shove it in a glovebox or something.

That’s the kit that I had and plugged the sidewall with. Along with the help of Randy’s gasket sealer it almost made it all the way home before I swapped in the spare.

It was literally perfect timing when it finally failed.

Yeah, no kidding. @TacoFMS I usually drive past this rest area that Randy stops at and this time I decided to stop. It’s only about 20 min from my house. It literally must have just started leaking and we swapped the spare on.

Nice. Glad it ended well and not disastrous.

Pieces are starting to arrive. Waiting on a 4’ straight section and muffler (arriving tomorrow) and then all the fancy parts from Dirt Skum. B98E8BF2-52D2-4ED5-AB7C-F695131B3C21.jpg

I am really looking forward to it as well. It’ll be like a fun puzzle project getting all the different cuts where I want them to route it up and out.
