Which tires are people using to get at least 60K and good handling from?

I will be changing tires in the near future and since my Taco has the stock size Toyo Open Country and appear to have lasted a long time/mileage I was wondering what everyone else is using to get at least 60-70K and good handling from. I'm happy to go back with the Toyo but my son who has worked for several years at a major tire dealer says Toyo are hit/miss, 50% of the customers love them, the others hate them. I like the Michelin LTX, thats whats on my wifes 4Runner and are great tires, but I'm kinda looking at the all terrain type tires. Son swears the BFG KO2 are the best, but I'm curious what other Taco owners are using.

I'm mainly looking at price and mileage lasts.

Mine came with the Duratracs and plan on replacing them with the Michelins for the mpgs and quieter ride, once they wear out

I put the LTX's on wifes 4Runner back in 2017, they have 70K on them now and still have good tread. These are some of the best tires IMHO in the rain too.

I wasn't satisfied with the wet weather and snow performance of the Toyos and looked at what ... 26 sets? The BFGs noted above were in the running, but I ended up with Cooper Discoverer AT3s and the improvement in wet weather/snow performance is ASTOUNDING! They are as quiet ... will have to see how long they last ... but as a bonus, my truck's computation of MPG et al is now within 1-2% of my manual calculation; remarkable.

But I'd rather replace my ~$800 tires sooner than trash/total my truck in a ditch as she couldn't hold the wet roads ...

My only complaint, or maybe I hadn't really noticied any delta before, is that Waze and other GPS systems will show me going 73 or 74 MPH speed over ground while the truck display says 74 or 75, always 1-2 MPH higher in readout.

Ironically enough this is one of the other tires my son recommended due their experience at the tire shop. The Cooper AT3's that is. They aren't out of the running yet.

I've been eyeing the BFG Trail Terrains as a replacements for the Toyo's but was hoping to see them in person to see how they look vs the K02's.

Also like the looks of the MT Baja Boss AT but might be a bit aggressive for my 99% highway driving.

If I could afford it I'd put Michelins on everything.

Michelin defenders. Surprisingly good traction from a highway tire, and long treadwear.

Doing a little bit at a time.
I have the BFG Trail Terrains on my 2022 Tacoma and really like them. I am 75-80% city/highway and other part light off road.

I'm happy with Wildpeaks so far but i've only had them for a few years so i can't comment as to how long they will last yet.

Of all the tires mentioned the ltx are best. I run wildpeaks and you can get the full 55k from them. Cooper also puts out very nice rubber.

If you plan to go offroad a bit then go for the wildpeaks or toyo at3. If it's just dirt roads or streets you can't beat the ltx for performance and life.

I have a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3 that have 45000 miles and still measure 10/32. Great dry traction. Pretty good wet and snow traction. I will get another est when these wear out.

Michelin LTX M/S or Defender M/S is by far the best road tire for a truck. I put them on everything.

I don't own Michelins on this truck (wanted a more aggressive tread) , but as far as longevity and quality go, Michelins can't be beat for on-pavement tires.

Check out Maxxis Razrs.Havent had them in the snow but they have the Triple Peak symbol, they hold up well in rain. 60k mileage warranty too. I've only got about 3k on mine so I'll see how long they last.20221012_155428.jpg

Copper Discoverer AT3s are the best tire I’ve found. Great all-around tire with excellent performance in the rain and Michigan snow.
