    I bought the iPad about 3 weeks ago to use for work & now I wonder what I did without it...
    It is always with me & I wanted a way to be able to use some of the features - Maps - Dragon Dictation - Dragon Search - Pandora - etc. safely while driving.
    The iPad is plug & play with my Pioneer AVIC-X920BT so I have full access to all of the audio features.
    The bluetooth for the Phone & IHeart Radio through the Blackberry completes the package.:cool:
    I've seen the full HU-to-iPad conversion video & it's pretty cool, but I need to constantly take my iPad in & out of the truck, so I wanted something more user friendly.

    I bought the OtterBox "Defender" series case for it. this comes with the actual iPad case as well as a hard plastic shell to use as a cover while not in use or a stand when needed.
    This hard case has 4 rubber "feet" on it to hod it steady - I lost 2 of them & OtterBox is sending me another whole cover for free...:D
    This gave me the idea to use the old cover as part of a mount to hold the iPad in my truck...
    I found a old L bracket from an A/C mounting kit and bent it to the proper angle. I then rattle canned it black.
    Went to Ace (they are closer than running to Home Depot;)) and spent $2.75 on a couple of black screws two machine screws and two wing nuts.

    took it for a quick ride over to 7-11. It moves a bit - but no more shake than what I have in the rear view mirror.:)
    The real test will be a week from this coming Monday when I go back to work!

    Thanks! I took a longer spin this afternoon to try it out. The control is sooooo much easier to glance at (like you would at your HU).
    I'm not gonna surf the web & drive, but the maps put my Pioneer's GPS to shame!

    Yeah:rolleyes: I have an Ace hardware 1/4 mile from home and HD is about 6 miles. For 6 screws, I'll give Ace the business...
    It's from www.carid.com - and I don't recommend it at all. Too many fitment issues and did not come with enough adhesion promoter... Took almost two week to get more from them after I complained. Some pieces are separating.
    Your better of spending the $ on a better mod...
