You’ve ran the ott tune as well correct? I believe I’ve seen you comment on other threads you were using the ott. If so, how does the kdmax pro and ott compare? Which is better in your opinion and why?

I've always been a "lite" guy. Lite throttle control shines best in crawling/offroad situations.

I also have switched to Lite throttle for the last half tank and now on a second full tank. I’m normally a “Normal” throttle guy and have talked about what I think are benefits to it. With Normal it’s lite pressure to get it to tip in and very light pressure to maintain. I’ve alway felt this contributed to better mileage as it required less skinny pedal modulation.

My first half tank on Lite I saw a slight drop in mileage but to be fair part of that tank was against a strong north wind moving South as I headed to North MS over rolling hills.

After fill up and a strong northerly tailwind as I returned South I had as high as 23.9 mpg readings and finished the 111 miles after fill-up at 22.7 mpg. As I’m nearing the halfway mark of this tank I’m currently reading 21.7 mpg. That’s with a lot of stop and go traffic in town.

So we’ll see as time go on. It definitely is smoother at tip in!

updated: I didn’t mention this is on a lifted truck with additional 300# of sliders, lift components weight difference, winch and winch bumper. I’m still at the moment on stock tires and wheel but will have news ones on by early next week. I’m trying to stay as close to stock tire and wheel weight but going up to 33”.

What do you normally get for mileage on a half tank of gas? Are you on regular or premium gasoline?

Hey all! So just got updated to the 9.0 by @bulldogppas here in Ohio and man this tune is so much better than the last one. I went with lite throttle since I’ve seen a few people saying that’s what the went with and liked it and I definitely recommend going with lite or trying it. Feels so smooth starting from stops and the power is there if you need to get up and go. Also the gear shifting is incredibly smooth and holds the gears extremely well. Very impressed so far with this tune but I’ll have to test it more over the weeks and see how it is but first impression it feels amazing. Thanks @PapaRee & @TWTaco for making this amazing tune and tweaking it to make it better and better. And thanks again to @bulldogppas for tuning my truck for me! Super awesome guy!

Sounds like when I upgrade to 9.0 I need to switch to lite. Not sure I understand how lite would get less mpg than normal.

@shotgunbilly420 normally I don’t judge a tank at the halfway mark as my experience is it normally fall off near or just after the last quarter mark. I was only stating what it was currently showing at the half tank mark.

On my way to church tonight I noticed some discrepancies in the dash cluster gauge that read “Tank Average mileage” and the head unit mileage reading?

The cluster gauge was showing 21.5 mpg and head unit 19.5 3 mpg difference?

In the pass theses have been relatively close, within .2 or so. Not off like this. So I’m not currently sure what my actual mileage is. I normally do a hand calculation and it is also normally .3 - .5 less the gauge readings.

I was just curious I get about 200 to 225 miles a half tank kdmaxed . If I try I can squeeze 250 miles on a half tank .
