LOL, @RedWings44 hates HMS and is a well rounded asshole! Running on pure emotion and hate with little consideration given for common sense or actual reality. Hence why he is a KB fan! I mean a CHEVROLET fan now!!!! Welcome @RedWings44, it's nice over here in our bowties.

I will say that I am not a big fan of the kid but Ty is going to be a superstar in the sport. He has a lot of talent and he will polish the rough edges. I suspect his dad passing will calm him some also. He will get a much larger role in the company just in namesake alone now being the next Gibbs to really take the reigns and I suspect he will grow up fast. Beyond that he already has the role of the heel and it might work for him to just carry on with that. Kyle will have to play nicer in the 8, he will not have the major backing he had in Mars and will have to act however those sponsors want him. I am a bit concerned for how much success Kyle will have in the 8. He will win races and compete but so much of who he is is based on emotion and ego. That all took a massive blow and kind of brought him back down to being human and having to be a little of who he is not. In the past he has gotten away with whatever because of his talent and the money behind him. I hope he does not lose his edge but he has never been known as a driver who keeps digging. Either he is in the best equipment or he is pissed and does not make the effort. At least in the past. And this is a man who until the latter part of this year has always been in a car that was top 3-5 in the field. Much of his career in the very best a manufacturer has to offer. Now he is in what maybe the 7th-9th best Chevrolet. I guess we will see how it goes.

even with the best equipment, KB was very vocal about how crappy things were at times. I agree on your points with Ty. He will be a superstar and his Dads passing has to humble him... has to.

I am a KB fan too but don't foresee any Championships remaining in him. Maybe I'm wrong but we'll see.

My money is on the 12 next year. He has to produce. He's been a consistent top 5 but needs to take that next step and make it deep (final 4) into the playoffs and possibly win the Championship for him to not be seen as just another journeyman driver who was good but couldn't get over that hump. I think Ryan Blaney has what it takes. 2023 will be a big year for the 12 team. He proved in Phoenix he can run and would have won that race if he didn't have to play blocker for the 1 car. So, I'll give Blaney 1/2 win in 2022

I like Blaney also. I agree that he does need to get back into victory lane but he is safe at Penske and with his sponsors for as long as he wants to be with them. I fully expect him to be a champion at some point but even if not he has cemented his place in the sport. I do not view him as a Custer or Briscoe or anything like that. Of the ford drivers he is about the only one I pull for from time to time. I hate to see him associated with Penske but it is a solid ride.

I like Blaney as well, but hate Penske, so I can't pull for him.

That and building his own brand for the 54. Ty, himself, previously stated he wanted to drive the 54 in cup.

Wouldn't you like to know? Lol

But seriously, that wasn't from hate. It was more of a legitimate thing. The 24 was Jeff Gordon and the 48 was Jimmie Johnson. The 5 and the 25 were Rick Hendrick. I, personally, felt that the 24 and 48 should have been shelved for at least a season or two out of respect. But that's me.

I don't really have any distain for HMS. I didn't like Johnson when he was winning everything, but that went away as his career started to fade. I had nothing against Dale Jr or Gordon. I have nothing against Bowman, Byron, or Larson. I mainly just can't stand Chase Elliott.

Ryan preece will drive the SHR 41 next season. Custer is staying with the organization, but in the xfinity series, a teammate to Riley Herbst.

Maybe he needs a good reset like John Hunter Nemecheck did.

Did JHN get a reset? I thought he was put on pause! Custer is fucked, best he can hope for now is to become the next Justin Allgaier but I don't think he has the funding that Justin does. Plus the dude just looks like he is straining to poop all the time. Like a little Newman but more like a turd.

I mean, he has about 40 cup races and only 3 top 10s. Most of those races coming before going to KBM and starting to go through the Toyota development program.

But I'd agree with your assessment of Custer. I don't think I'd consider the 41 to be the best equipment, but he hasn't done much of anything other than 1 win in 2018 and the equipment also isn't that bad.

SO pumped for Preece! I hope he produces and lives up to the hype the short trackers give him. Tony has an eye for talent tho.

Apparently NASCAR is planning to expand to Brazil in addition to their series in Mexico, Canada, and Europe. They're also interested in developing a common chassis for those international brands so they can do a global championship of sorts.

International ladder. Nice! Certainly opens international sponsorship opportunities that could eventually be funneled upward. Good for both parties.

8 all the way! I'll still pull for JGR, except the 19, but KB is my ride or die
