I have Deaver U402 expedition stage 3 leaf springs with Deaver polyurethane leaf springs
that I am looking to trade for Deaver U402 expedition stage 2 leaf springs.

Mine have ~5000 miles and no issues.

Anyone add a new camper or weight in the bed and need some extra support? :)

I am located in Hermosa Beach, CA and can meet in the Los Angeles area to do the swap. Maybe +cash on your end depending on condition. Thanks!

call up deaver. they're in santa ana. they can probably remove a leaf or heat and bend a piece to turn it into a stage 2. they're really cool dudes.

are the stage 3 too much for your setup? from your pic looks like you got some weight there...

FYI, you can just remove a leaf to make them stage 2. That’s what I did with mine. I have stage 3 leafs but run them as stage 2. IIRC, it was the second or third leaf that I removed.

sweet thank you! I originally picked them up in person so wouldn’t mind another trip over there!

Stage 3 was perfect for my current setup which was a camper, bed drawers filled with gear, and high clearance bumper with swingout.

I’ve removed the bed drawers, probably am going to remove the swingout and run the bumper without it, and may be switching to a topper from the camper down the road. So I was thinking stage 2 may be more appropriate.

thanks, Sergio! I may hit you up haha I thought stage 2 and stage 3 were both 9 leafs which is why I thought you couldn’t just remove a leaf like you do with Dakar leaf packs

Disclaimer: I’m no engineer but I’ve been running my leaf pack this way for a couple years now and haven’t had an issue. Somebody with a degree might jump in here and tell me why I’m wrong and removing a leaf is sacrilege and I should take my pagan ramblings straight back to the cave I crawled out of.

I spoke to Deaver and they said they don't necessarily recommend removing a leaf as the pack isn't designed for it but if you wanted to, you could remove Leaf #5 (assuming Leaf #1 was the top leaf). They said it wouldn't impact the capability a ton but could impact the progressive loading. They recommended swapping. Food for thought!
