I think mine could, too. At 320K I don't think I'm doing too bad. Especially compared to a lot of others that are still on the road today. But I plan to keep my rig forever. I really mean that.

Yep, keep the salt off of it and do the maintenance and it will last forever.

I have the same sentiment towards mine, it's one of the few vehicles that I've owned that just makes me smile whenever I drive it. It wasn't happy this morning, it started to sputter a bit under a heavy throttle to get up to speed on RT 30 and then I gots a flashing CEL followed by a solid CEL. It usually means that one of the coils has some crud built up at the terminal for the spark plug wire. I can clean it off, squeeze in some more dielectric grease and get another 6 months out of it before I need to repeat the process. At least I get to use the new scan tool and read/clear out the codes myself.

Sunday the igniter failed in my furnace. Of course it's a special order part and it happened when the temps dropped. I'm thankful to have this ole Fisher woodstove and plenty of free firewood on my property. It's been keeping the cabin nice & toasty all week.

So do you think you need new coil boots? I've never had a flashing CEL, but that sounds scary to me, lol. Do you run a ScanGauge or an Ultra Gauge?

I need a 16” steel wheel as spare. Anyone has one that want to get rid off?

I run the Harbor Freight Zurich ZR8S ! This has been an issue since I've owned the rig, at first I didn't know what the issue was until I got it scanned at a parts store. At the time I was active on t4r.o r g and everyone there was telling me 1.2 million things that it wasn't. 2 of the coils are original, 3 years ago I replaced one with a Denso unit and I thought that it would be the replacement coil that was bad. Nope, it was a crusty 20+ year old coil that was super crusty where the plug wire plugs onto the terminal. I just cleaned it w/ a brass wire brush, applied some dielectric grease and it was fixed for about a year. It's always the same coil for some reason, the one towards the front of the engine.

I'm going outside to confirm my suspicions.

Wish I would've known. I left 2 with tires mounted on them back in my Baltimore garage.

Suspicions confirmed- P0302 #2 cylinder. It's the plug wire terminal on the wire this time, it was a bit cruddy. I scrapped it the best I could, gave it a douche with electrical contact cleaner, cleaned out the terminal in the coil and gave it some fresh dielectric grease. I will know tomorrow morning when I leave for work.

It sky started dropping freeking freezing rain/ tiny sleet balls...

I score good today at Weis, I had almost 600 points that expire soon, so they had 'free' turkeys w/ 400 points and a 3lb tray of 80/20 ground beef for 100 points. Free food! I have no idea when I will ever eat a 18lb turkey, but I will be ready if the need araises!
