A little something every chance we get.
OK, everyone remember when FAA and Intl entities were BANNING laptops and phone in the air? L-Ion batteries.
Why you see every package marked not for Air transport is you get a battery product.

I start a two week vacation tomorrow. Going to sit around and enjoy doing nothing. That ought to last about two hours until I get bored and have to putter. Weather is cool enough I can start cleaning out the attic and add more decking without sweating myself into dehydration and heat stroke maybe even make a few dump runs. I need to fix the kitchen sink drain, set up the Christmas tree, finish edging the flowerbeds, chop out the giant bird of paradise stumps and root ball, weed and feed the yard, clean the sidewalks, replace the rear u-joint in the Tacoma and clean the grout in the foyer and hallway. Maybe I should just go back to work….

I can sit down right in front of my next on the list chore. Doesn't bother me a bit. Took years to fully develop this attribute.

Same here. The Tesla business model sucks, on certain parts. I am not a fan of Skynet, I have a few friends that are into astronomy.

So, what are you doing after lunch on the first day of vacation?

Good morning. Haircut day and grocery shopping. Senior day at Harris Teeter going to get there early. Also, day one for therapy on the right shoulder. Time to clean the workbench area of the garage from back yard and Halloween projects, just in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas projects. ;)

The foam is slowly being outlawed. The chemicals take too long to break down.

Nice productive morning here in Connecticut. Throughly cleaned our Weber kettle and gas grill. Don't expect any grilling on the kettle and maybe the gas. Could just be the smoker from here forward. Get a lot done when I start the day with a Turkish coffee from my local place.

I'm really surprised that Teslas are on the road after the numbers of accidents. Or are the numbers in line with all other car models? Hard to tell from what we get from media and I'm not interested enough to do the research. As for Skynet, it's amazing what money can let people do. I mean... are there any people acting as a filter for Musk and his ideas or is he just doing anything that seems like a good idea with no oversight?

My Mrs works for a local fire district - all of the electric cars will burn ......... and the firemen mostly have orders to watch'em (if possible) after people rescued. Just liimit the damage to that vehicle. Big complaint - no external master disconnect - like an NHRA drag car - common to all of the full electrics.

Over my years of constant highway travel here in the west - I got to see a few vehicle fires along the way, the gas versions will burn nicely too. Dodge trucks with plastic fuel injection tubing comes to mind as a frequent victim - but I'm sure there are others with the same sort of risky engineering. We owned an 88 Thunderbird with the same plastic pressure (?) tubing and it lasted through our ownership - but my Hemi truck popped a spraying leak (on the freeway) near Mesa one morning and by the grace of god did not ignite.

You see so many examples of govt under-regulation on large corporations, we just accept the fact that they are going to literally get away with murder. For instance, when it is discovered that a corporation has decided to quietly settle lawsuits as being cheaper than to acknowledge and recall unsafe products, there should be jail time for those involved in the conspiracy, and I mean for both industry and govt conspirators. If that makes me sound like I’m from California, well, I am, but this is not political, it goes way beyond politics and into the realm of “ignore that crazy man.”

    Afternoon all:

Interesting Kurt, I thought Rivian sales were much higher than the chart shows, looks like Tesla is the clear leader by a lot.

:annoyed: Had another buck in range this morning, again not enough points to meet PA antler restrictions of 3 on one side! :(
I'm seeing buck, but just not the right ones!!!!!!

I got the recall notice for "upper child seat anchor welds may fail during a crash" but since they may do more damage to my finishes doing the fix that I will just sit on it since I don't plan to ever sell it. Might change my mind later if there is a statute of limitations but this is a new truck and I don't want them messing around with it.

When the accelerator pedal recall came out and they chopped it off, I told the stealership to leave mine alone!! I did not want it cut!! and they left it alone - I think I'm smart enough to keep the floor mat out from the pedal area!

Happy Birthday Anthony. Welcome to the thread. Hope you had a great birthday.

The Tundra we use to tow hasn’t had it either.
Once you trade it in, by law, it will be done. Can’t sell anything without all recalls completed.

Vacation day two… I continue to work off the honey do list. Wife put me on garage restriction, not allowed to putter until all the Christmas stuff is done. Big win in that regard yesterday. I got the lighted grapevine reindeer working in minutes instead of the day or more of troubleshooting to figure out why part of them won’t light. Started putting down the decking in the attic. I have a bunch of 2’x4’ pieces of 3/8” plywood left over from boarding up windows for hurricanes that are a little thin to support my weight between the 24” OC ceiling joists. I’ll double them up today and loose 1/2 of my extra storage space but the EMTs won’t have have to pick me up out of the laundry room when I fall through. Going to clean up the flowerbeds and tackle the kitchen sink drain this morning. I failed a plumbing inspection for my new homeowners insurance company because I used a flexible tailpiece when we replaced the sinks like 15 years ago. I never liked the idea of an accordion drain pipe but I never went back and did it right because it worked and I positively hate plumbing and I’m pretty sure it hates me back. Fun times.
