    Oh yea.
After 40 years my multimeter I think decided to retire.
    It won’t zero ohms anymore.
Made me a shit ton of money and it doesn’t owe me anything..

So I’m wrong? Well, it was just a stab. Never saw one, but I do have some bizarre Kent-Moore.

To all of the linemen/electrical fellers out there...a guy my wife works with (at an electrical co-op) got zapped yesterday. He's going to be fine, apparently it went in one thumb and came out the other.:eek::eek:

Just a reminder, please be careful out there. :)

When you said it wouldn't zero I thought of an analogue meter.
The 260 is a fabulous meter - for working on a bench. The case is Bakelite and doesn't take kindly to rough handling.

Although no shock is a good shock the hand to hand is especially bad - your heart being right there in the middle.
Fortunately my 3 phase days are behind me, I'm cautious (and slow), never took a shock.

Glad he is going to be OK.:pray:

The airport is less than a mile to the north. And nore or less in line with the runway.

In the past, contractors have requested 160' cranes and been told no. Not sure how tall this one will be but it's not little.

Yea it has a permanent 2k resistance lol.
Checked everything, bypassed fuses, bypassed probes.
Upside down under a dash. I need l led display and resistance to kicking, dropping, etc, definitely not table use lol

Holy shit! Lucky to be alive! The problem with shocks like that is the electricity tends to cook the meat (you) on the way through, then infection / gangrene can set in. I hope this feller is ok and learns from this mistake.

We use the fluke 117 at work. Seem to work well, it’s annoying that they have an auto shutoff feature, especially when you’re ringing out a circuit and think you have an open, then look to see the meter is on break.

On that subject, these damn things: (non-contact voltage detectors)
    download.jpg

I have seen guys using them thinking they are the coolest thing - sorry, I never met one I trusted with my life yet.

There is a reason that good meters cost good money and salesmen give these silly things away.

One of the first things I taught the kids was to verify that the meter actually works first on an outlet or whatever, then go and use it for your job.
