Oh we have a few good ones to be honest…and some bad ones. Had a few good nights in Bahrain, England, Dubai, Europe, and Hawaii.

I just got into an argument with a guy in Facebook group I'm in about the importance and general need for inspections and emissions testing in PA. He doubted the condition of my frame based on pictures of the exterior, so I sent him pics of the underside; I Fluid Filmed the new frame with help from my friend Dave back in September...

Definitely gonna hit 160K by the end of the year, and I'm thinking 200K by late 2024-early 2025 if I still have the truck!

I still don't get why the goddamn head gasket failed when it did. Well-maintained Tacomas aren't supposed to have this issue until they have several hundred thousand miles, and certainly not before 160K! What gives?!?!

Maybe the gasket itself had some sort of a slight defect, wouldn't have mattered how well you maintained it. Had a clutch fork break one time; it had an internal casting flaw and went over 100K before it snapped.

I said it before, its prob nothing you did wrong. Could been bad material/part. Stuff can break without cause, I had a brand new in box light switch not work, i had to get a new switch. I know not the same. Still new parts can be bad out of the box.

Arguing on the internet is pointless.
Depending on the circumstances I “might” try to correct someone if the information they are giving is wrong. I’ll do my best to do it politely, and only once.

In a situation like yours, I would have ignored the guy.
Actually, I’d rather someone think my truck was a POS.
People don’t usually ask to borrow or ride in a POS. ;)

No misfires or anything, and the coolant smell has pretty much dissipated!

I just got into an argument with a mechanic in a Facebook group I'm part of, a mechanic who obviously doesn't think too highly of Toyota products...

    What is a mechanic?
Seriously, what is required to be titled a mechanic?

    Again, internet arguments are pointless.
That “mechanic” just took time off your life clock.
Time you won’t get back either

How often was the coolant changed over the years?

Coolant does more than just protect from freezing, it also contains corrosion inhibitors, these are very important for modern engines with aluminum heads.

The inhibitors get consumed over time, when they become depleted the weakest link, the head gasket, is under attack.
