I remember asking the doc how they put it in. Than seeing a video of the procedure. Umm no thank you. Glad I was knocked during that. My surgery was 13hrs. Was in a induced coma for 2 weeks. I don't want to relive that pain again.

Damn that must have been horrible

On a lighter note, how are you liking that KTM?

Love it. Glad I decided on that bike. Too cold out for me tho. It's away for the winter.

I'm hoping to buy a new bike in the spring. I'm hoping that Honda will bring the nt1100 into this country. Africa twin is cool but to tall. NT1100 is basicly an Africa twin that's lower and with bags, cruise control, heated grips, etc. I'm not really into off reading to much anymore as I'm aging. But I do like to ride. I don't need the biggest fastest most bad ass bike, just comfortable, reliable, and doesn't break the bank.

It's like a baby Goldwing, hadn't looked at that before, not bad at all.

Have you looked at the recently announced rebel 1100s? Specifically thinking the bagger version, since you mentioned bags on the nt1100. I think it's kind of a cool option, definitely on the small side for a bagger, but still has an AT motor with a different tune in it.

Yeah but I'm not into the whole cruiser thing. And I'm sorry but to my eye that thing is butt ugly, lol. Plus I need a bike that can go 2 up so my girl can ride with me. It's something we enjoy doing together.

I'd get the top case too.

But there's no guarantee that it's even going to come to the US, so at this point it's just a dream.

All this wreck talk, bad juju.

But man, hope you heal fast.

I am upping my gear game. I bought jeans for the first time in 15 years. Just for riding. I don’t wear pants otherwise. And my jacket just showed up.

I have some seconds if it doesn't come here.
If I go cheap a klr650, but it's not what I really want.
I may even go with a big maxi scooter like the kymco ak550, it will have cruise controll in 2023 and it's super comfortable and has plenty of speed for the highway, it'll do over a hundred mph.2017-Kymco-AK550-Bike-Review-_AK_550.jpg
What my real requirements for a bike are is fairly low seat, cruise control, and storage or luggage, wind protection, upright seating position, heated grips, comfort.
Tracer gt9 is just getting to techy and has a bunch of stuff on it I'd never use.

That thing looks killer. I could still never let myself ride a scooter, but that one would be the one to try.

    You definitely want a KLR.
With the top gun rear spring 2 up should be easily doable with “standard” size people, on preload 2 (of 5) it’s perfect for my 300 lb fat ass.

I just returned from a couple weeks in Europe and this is all anyone rides. Honda has an adventure-ish offering that looks badass, but we don't get them here. I would commute on this so hard! It's called the X-ADV. It has a 745cc parallel twin and dct transmission.

Earlier this year I looked at a Yamaha Majesty 400 with super low mileage and seriously considered buying it. Coworker has one and rides it more than his Road King. Said he actually prefers it. Kind if wishing now I had bought it.

There's only 2 things that would keep me from buying the x-adv. No cruise controll and a small storage area under the seat.

Well it is basicly a motorcycle in scooter clothes, and today 14k is about what a decent motorcycle cost.
