Hi, I have a work truck that I custom built while ago. I use it to haul larger awkward material around. I noticed my front struts getting a little tired. It's not a bad idea to replace them or rebuild them locally.

I have air suspension at the back and custom leaf springs, so I have plenty of clearance and can lift my rear end and level it out any time I want within seconds.

The front is what needs to be addressed. What is the best bang for the buck to gain 2-3" of height for the front? I am not planning to offroad, of course, but the front end does bottom out if I overload my rack towards the front.

    Do I go with these?

I am not sure how long I will be keeping the truck, so I don't want to go all out on it, but I still want a solid truck. I would consider a strut lift if yall stand by it and that it's the better route. Thanks for your thoughts. InkedIMG_6867_LI.jpg IMG_6859.jpg

A strut lift isn’t going to address your bottoming out issue.

Without lift, I would recommend some nice bump stops like durabumps or similar to help soften the bottom out.

otherwise, you will want springs designed for more weight.

Bilistein 5100 with eibach coils stock... Do they actually give you a 3" lift? Also, 200 LBS is the heaviest we can find for the 5 lug toyota?
    • OME 2883: 200 + lbs additional front weight (heavy bumper and winch) 2.5- 3 inch Lift
    I do not have a front def, it's a 2WD.

Why did you do a SPC upper control arms? Did it provide lift or stability?

It seems like it's running up the total real quick. If I am willing to spend over 1k in upgrades for the front end, I think the better option is heavy-duty shocks, maybe Bilistein if that's the heaviest, and a fabtech 3" .

Has anyone had experience with these $50 strut bushing upgrades? Not worth it? I do not drive the truck daily, maybe once or twice a week.

the cheapest way is to put adjustable bilsteins on the front. If you dont know these adjustements are done by moving the lower spring mount up to the top clip. This just preloads the spring more for more lift. I bought some +100 lbs / inch springs for the front of my 96 4X4 and it leveled it… forget where I git the struts/springs from, sorry.

It being a 5lug im not sure whats out there for adjustable coilovers. 5lugs are completely different steering and suspension. Theres a whole 5lug section here id look there.
