Someone was telling me that winter is the best time to pour. Guess they were wrong.

If you would like someone to hold your beer while all of this going on, I volunteer. I can sort of weld, too. I even come with my own helmet, gloves, and jacket.

Did they just let you play with the X-ray machine?

they can’t pour if there’s a possibility of freezing temps or rain.

Lame. You need concrete. How's a guy supposed to build a Tacoma on 40s?

Exactly! But I’m used to building stuff in the dirt.

yes I have. It’s definitely an upgrade from the foot pedal but there’s a catch. The foot pedal works like a rheostat with infinite control, the trigger controller has 4 switches. With the foot pedal I usually turn the machine all the way up and control the amperage as needed. Can’t do that with the trigger. You have to set your max amperage for when it’s fully depressed and as you release the trigger the amperage steps down, but the steps are a little drastic and the trigger is very sensitive. I will use it over the foot pedal but it’s not perfect.

So begins the search for the next level hand/finger with rheostat and infinite control!! And away the keyboard wizardry!

So you should be done by Christmas, right?
Are you giving the technician the finger?
I'm old and don't know 21st century stuff, what would that definition be?
I know they can put additives in concrete when the temps are below 50. Not sure how low they can go but I would think they can pour when it's above freezing, definitely above 40. The problem would be the overnight temps as it fully cures, which is typically about 4 weeks.

I’m shooting for thanksgiving as a completion date.

and that’s what I understand about concrete as well. If it isn’t cured and temps go below freezing, the concrete will crack/shatter

I looked it up on Urban Dictionary and didn't see anything ban-worthy. I'll have to ask my kids...carry on.

Well shit. Last year the yacht sprung a code for the knock sensor. It's a pretty involved repair. I bought the parts and procrastinated. Soon after, the light went out. And didn't come back. Until yesterday. I guess I'm going to have to do it. I wish it had done it before the temps dropped. I'm half tempted to pay someone to do it.

Is the light on because the engine is knocking?
