Collecting snow because the cheap ass cover disintegrated after two years. And when I tried to start it last weekend it wasn’t having it. Hasn’t moved under its own power in almost a year, probably

But, you know, sentimental shit and whatnot…

I bought some proforged ones last time, but theres lots of brands for those, I'd say most any of them are fine for everyday use.

Moog is pretty cheap right now

Proforged apparently was bought by Holley... but still make em too, mine are doing okay so far

I like CTR, my 96 camry had its original ctr tie rods on at 250k, new ford's use them too

They're like 30 bucks for our trucks

I’ve heard some people swear Moog parts are more durable than OEM for off-roading (LBJs especially), but idk if that’s true.

I'd take it all with a grain of salt, its subjective testing. But regardless of whether it is better than OEM or not, it's a pretty good review to not fail spectacularly when tested.

BMWs seem to die from transmission and fuel delivery problems around here. Owners give up and they wind up in Junkyards.

Fuel delivery is a big issue on the direct injection ones. But the newer 6, 7, and 8 speed transmissions are quite excellent to be quite honest and they're very durable.

I’ve heard the older BMWs were pretty reliable, like from the 80d and early 90s. They’ve also made some great engines like the M57 and M10. Their V8s and V10s seem to have poor reliability though.

I almost bought one of these new. I sure loved the way it performed. But I couldn't get one with A/C and the dealer-installed air sucked and I was tired of driving a car without AC. I had heard the model was being discontinued and the dealer was far away.

I still haven't gotten to test a ZF8. I've heard many good things.

I already have that, I use it for reconditioning the vans AGMs per @Digiratus suggestion. Works great but maybe I'm a fool and didn't realize it's also a trickle charger?

They're pretty amazing. Let's put it this way they discontinued making the DCT transmissions because they got a zf8 to shift faster and with less torque management.

That is pretty amazing. And they're stout/durable units from what I've heard.
I was expecting that was what Mini would put in their newest GP JCW but they used the same Aisin 8 speed as the rest of the lineup.

A few years later I bought one of these lost generation Z cars 5-MT which by all accounts is one of the best most reliable cars that I've owned.

It's too big to be in a front wheel drive platform. You got to remember this is the same zf8 that's put in all the ram/dodge products with the standard hemi and scat pack too. BMW has a separate division just dedicated to tuning the nuts off of them though
