I'm no mind reader, but I do guess the "advice" is from someone who has a bent headliner and also has something similar to this:
    upload_2022-11-18_19-6-33.jpg
Which would cause an always ON center lamp, draining the battery. But no, there should be no metal clips holding the lamp that mates to the roof metal requiring axle grease...:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Since the dome is a HOT fuse (always on).

You can't, has to be locked by a mod. No reason to lock it and look ^^ he got you the wiring diagram to get you squared away

I totally agree with dude being an expert when it comes to wiring and is generally not an ass but I don't agree with being called stupid. If I'm mistaken, say that. Its far from helpful posting rofl emojis then calling someone stupid.

Also, for your further education: dielectric grease insulates, it's intended purpose is to keep contacts protected from water and shorting out to other pins. Axle grease on the other hand is conductive. But again, I'm not the "authority" on TW so laugh at whatever you want.

and since I'm "stupid" heres a link you can read:

    https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/w...ctric grease?,and doesn't conduct electricity.

He didn't call you stupid. He said it was stupid advice.

I appreciate the education. I know to use it to protect wires and that's it. I try to listen to those with more knowledge than me to learn all I can. I'm wrong at least once a day...I can't be the only one.

Again, it's the internet. Don't have such thin skin:hattip:
