At least you're only translucent. I'm reflective, I can brighten up a room with just my shirt off. In bright sun it's downright dangerous!

As predicted. Door install was a CF. One exterior wall not plumb. Lower left of door kicked out 1/2" off the exterior sheathing for door to be plumb. Now I'll need to freehand a pie shaped jamb extension on the interior and make exterior trim appear acceptable. Was like 3 dimensional chess. Lovely. But it works well and is all weather tight. Heading back Monday for interior & exterior trim.

Has Carhartt become a synonym for "brown canvas"? Last year, one of my girls told her sister, "Dad's wearing Carhartt pants," and I corrected her that they're G.H. Bass. Since I could no longer find the Cabela's Thinsulate Canvas A2 Jacket, I've been wearing (and ordering) Flight Outfitters' Bush Pilot canvas jacket. Dad asked about the jacket and liked the bi-swing back with lots of freedom to swing the arms. It's my four-season jacket, so it takes care of Idaho and Montana's four seasons. We have early winter, mid-winter, late winter, and road construction. The last season has improved, since the single lane areas have increased the speed limits from 35 mph to 55, and in even less active construction could go higher.
Cold arrived a month early! 17 above when I left school at 3:30 a.m. Friday morning after a 6 p.m. start Thursday, due to parent-teacher conferences that evening. Nice to have a teacher work day Friday (no students, no need for this volunteer crossing guard) so I slept 'til noon, and went back at 6 Friday. Happily a sub showed up to do the contracted cleaning of classrooms (after two days without), so I was able to thoroughly clean the staff and kindergarten restrooms, dust mop and wet mop the floors and stairways, and was pleased to be able to lock up and leave at 11:30 p.m. Thanksgiving Week break! School should be looking good when we all return November 28. Bend, OR is colder, and has been getting more snow... I'll be sending them some coloring pages from the copier room's "Recycling" for their 3YO daughter (my first grand, who now has a baby brother). I saw my first buck whitetail downtown while driving home early Friday on the main drag! Branch-antlered, which was a surprise as I often see does, fawns and yearlings in town. The farms may be gone, but the wildlife is hanging on... deer, turkeys, squirrels, crows, geese and more...

That's how Alaskans can recognize each other when we're someplace where more skin can be exposed. The fluorescent white complexion prompted a couple from Anchor Point, AK to ask me while all the tent campers were taking refuge from late spring rains in the amenities block of a New Zealand motor park, "Are you from Alaska?" 'Yeah, Sitka." My tan is slowly coming back... 11 years in north Idaho sort of helps...
