No contact from Sirius XM after trial expiration

I've read posts where folks have been solicited to subscribe to Sirius XM after their trial period expires.

Mine expired last week but I have heard nothing from Sirius. I'm thinking that some sort of registration was either not submitted or overlooked. Not sure if it was my fault or the dealer's.

Any insight into this?

FTR, I would for a subscription using the $50/year strategy. No way would I pay full price (or even close to it) for this thing. It's convenient but not that valuable.

If your Sirius XM is working, I wouldn't worry about it. Wait for them to contact you. Usually in the form a letter. Then call them and negotiate (using a sad story) for a better price.

If you had to give them a CC to register, they charged you a year subscription at the end of the trial. No contact needed from them until time to re-up.

 

Just call them and discuss your options. never pay full price with XM!!!

My trial ends in December but I contacted them a few weeks ago. The best they gave me was $5/month for a year, so I kept calling back and referenced a deal I found online 3yr/$99. At first they said i didn't qualify but then i kept pushing and voila!!! They gave it to me. Nothing like $2.75/month of XM for 3 years!!! That's literally all it's worth, not the $17.99/month.

 

I loath dealing with them.
Wish they just had a reasonable price for everyone. Try to reference other streaming services not owned by them. They seem to sharpen the pencil at that point.
Numerous car/truck forums online with actual dialog to get the best price.

 

Trial has expired = Sirius no worky.

Seems like calling them would destroy any leverage I have over the price. Calling indicates desire which puts the ball in their court.

$5 buck a month is max I am willing to pay. It’s convenient for long road trips or even when I travel down to Mexico. I can be listening to Snoop Dog and Tupac while in Ensenada eating fish Tacos without worrying about spotty data from streaming music online.

Just call and don't take no for an answer. They'll give you the runaround, but keep pushing. It took me about 20 minutes for them to give in, but now I don't have to deal with them for 3 years, so it's worth it.

You do have to pay it fully upfront, but no biggie.

The excuses they came up with:
- I'm still in my trial so I don't qualify
- That promo is no longer available
- They only do 1 year deals
- My truck is too new
- The system won't allow my radio to get the promo

You’ll have to really twist their arm to get the cheapest rate. 2 years ago I tried to do that and they must have not been so desperate for subscribers, they basically told me it was the advertised rate or fuck off….so I fucked off.

I’d absolutely love to get onto whatever list you are on. I think that I have finally blocked all the numbers that they call from because I have asked them to stop calling for years now, and still get about 8 letters a month to continue service with them.

 

Anything that needs sold that hard ain’t worth buying.

 

I wall papered my den with all the fucking solicitations I got from them! Brace yourself brother.

 

As much as everyone bashes them, for me, I drive an hour each way to work and I hate regular radio stations with all the commercials and morning talk shows. I just want to listen to music !!! So this works for me, and the only stations I really listen to are 80’s on 8 (yes, the 80’s was the best decade for music), 90’s on 9, and The Blend.

for $2.75/month, this works perfectly for me, so to each their own.

 

I don't mind XM, but the sound is pretty crappy when you turn up the volume. I'll stick to my Bluetooth & iPhone. It's FREE, FREE, FREE!
