    Decided to invest in this additional idler pulley to help with belt slip when going down to a 2.7 or 2.5.

    So its time for new tires and have been looking. Not many catch my eye. There is the vredestein which has the higher speed rating, 130mph, I need/want however it is noted that the communication is numbed compared to other tires which is a huge negative to me. There is the Cooper which I currently have. They have been great minus the lower speed rating, 118mph, good communication, durable, good wet weather and ice handling. However the red flag to me is that Goodyear acquired Cooper in 2021 and knowing Goodyear most likely has cut corners somewhere. Toyo and Yokohama seem good yet they are heavier tires. Most likely I will probably go with the Cooper tires however I'm open to others feedback.

    Update on the fan adapter, got me a black one coming. Got to order the fan and have a HPS lower rad hose coming for the engine swap.

    Any details on the fan adaptor? Allows a more efficient blade to be swapped on? Very interested in this idea rather than running an efan.

    This is Lucario's idea. I think it is a good idea, so I went through the process of making it. The idea is to pull more cfm at lower rpms.

    I have been using this for a few weeks. You use it with this fan:

    It's a bolt on affair.

    To install it you take off the upper radiator shroud.
    Loosen fan shroud so you can get to the bolts off the existing fan. You do not need to remove it.
    You pull off the stock fan clutch and transfer to the new bracket.
    Bolt up the fan to the adapter, then install it on the engine.
    Before I bolted it the water pump, I put a little grease on the water pump flange (my stock fan
    was frozen to the water pump)

    Then you put the rest back together.

    The new assembly is approximately the same size as the stock fan.

    I made these in raw aluminum. I made a few in a satin black powder coat.

    Price of the raw aluminum is $90 + shipping. Powder coat is $120 + shipping.

    I will ship it with new hardware.

    Idea came from my GTR when comparing the fan in my 4runner to my skyline and found it was very similar in diameter. However I have no idea yet on if the gktech fan pulls more air than the stock 1gr fan. I wanted a simple bolt on to keep complexity to stock level that will hopefully outperform the stock fan. Thanks to @Coupe that has been done so now I can test to see if it works as desired.

    It makes sense that if the fan blades are engineered better they could move more air vs a stock fan. Very interested in this idea.

    Curious on what results you find.

    GKtech fan ordered, 2.7 pulley ordered. Tires are ordered. Need to go to Toyota to get a gasket for the oil pickup and sealant, will try tomorrow but it will be cold so not sure if I will. Still thinking of what else I'll need for the engine swap.

    hmm, gotta a picture? I tried looking for pics on second gens but didn't find much, mostly third gens and other toyota's but I think the color will be good with blue. Yeah, I saw it being a limited production color and thought a change wouldn't hurt, plus these are supposed to be the same weight or a pound lighter than the advans.
