I will admit that I actually liked some of their channels (I am a hard core classic rock guy). But the annual song and dance bullshit I had to go through with "Steve from Omaha" to get the price down to what I was willing to pay was just not worth my time.

you’re not the only one. I like it too. I’ll be up for renewal again in January. I usually either start the cancelation process before my subscription runs out or let it lapse, then negotiate a new year. Won’t pay more the $5/mo.

Big thing to remember is if you have XM, get the app and hook it up to carplay/android auto, it lets you skip songs and treat it like spotify. I used it this way when I had it. Treated it like normal outside of cities.

I tried the link and after putting in my info it comes up as 6 months $4.99/month. My trial is almost over so I might answer the phone when they call again and see what happens.

They are a hassle, I call them when my subscription is up and tell them this is what I want to pay. They go back and forth but then give in. Been doing that on my 15 for a few years now.

Those guys are the worst. The last time I called them to activate a trial they peddled the usual dog and pony act on me that they always do, except they wouldn't stop insisting...

Them: "oh, well sir if you are interested I can subscribe you after your trial is up for only $xx.xx a month."

Me: "No thanks just the trial for now"

Them: "sir, may I ask what is stopping you?"

    Me: "finances"

This made a big loop 3 more times because she kept trying to push a lower rate on me, and bla bla BLA! Eventually I got irritated because she wouldn't just shut the fuck up and give me my trial (even though she already activated my trial) and was trying to shove their subpar radio service down my throat like a sleezy car salesman that I just flat out hung up on her.

I continue to get letters with offers to this day.

Remind me why you want to invite that sort of freakshow, circus act of a business into your life OP? Do you applaud chaos?

I called them to try and cancel the trial...LOL. Of course, they said no. But that I would have it for free until trial ends. I told them then and there to never contact me and take me off any list they have. I still get constant Emails from them. They are the WORST!
Want no part of that madness!

You guys spend $50,000 on a truck but won’t spend 15 min on the phone to haggle a price down? I’ve had XM in my last 3 vehicles it works fine and sounds fine I’ve never paid more then $7 a month and I have 150 stations. Seems pretty easy to me :notsure:

I just moved my 8 track over from my Catalina. :boink:

Combined with my OE CD player I've got more music to listen to than time in the vehicle

No reason to be dependent on a paid service.

So, which paragraph is the lie.....

Exactly!! SiriusXM customer service isn’t THAT bad. Spend a little time, save a bit of money.

Coming from a 2nd gen with no satellite radio, I always thought XM was stupid. Why would anyone pay for music that’s free on the radio? But having my 3rd gen the past 5 months, I don’t know how I lived without it!!! I absolutely hate the morning radio talk shows on the radio, and this has saved my sanity!!

Believe me, you are very lucky in not having them contact you! But as someone else mentioned, log into your XM account and check to see if they did automatically renew you. If not, then unless you want it, I would consider myself lucky that they have not been barraging you with emails, snailmails, etc. I never renewed mine, and now, almost 4 years later, I still get the occasional mail from them, although it has slowed down a LOT from the time shortly after it expired. Back then, I was getting phone calls constantly, emails, and never ending snailmail all with the same $5 a month deal, which just wasn't a deal for me. I was fine without it before I bought my truck and I am fine without it now. I DO have to say though, that about 6 months after I got my truck, I went on a cross country drive in my truck, and at the time, Sirius had a promotion for 90-day trial for only $1. So I did do that, as I thought it might be good to have it cross country. Well, I actually did like it, because unlike terrestrial radio, the signal never goes out of area, so I had signal all across the USA. Now, while it was great for that, I just don't listen to the radio while driving around town. So I don't need it, but for cross country traveling, or for people who are in their cars a lot, I can see where it would be ok, but I also just don't see paying even $5 a month for it. I think it should be free...

I’m telling ya, it’s like we’re in the early 2000s and I’m the only one with a smartphone.
With everyone (except Ol Man Mountain) having a smartphone and unlimited data, I don’t understand the need for Satellite radio. Even if I don’t have service, my phone has massive amounts of music saved on it.

I'd buy a vehicle with out a radio if that was an option. I don't usually drive that far, and when I'm driving it's a great time to get some quite time. Road noise doesn't bother me, so I don't need to drown that out with music or talk radio.
