After a brush with soapy water then spray down, I put that Leno’s garage tire shine on and rub it in with the brush. Has that new tire shine for like 3 weeks. I didn’t wipe off the excess

 

I can…but that’s too much work. This way is like “set it and forget it”.

I don't understand the need to upgrade to LED license plate bulbs

 

I like them brighter - I'm going to put some on my front plate too

 

That looks like a front rail on your bed; I also have a '22 TRD OR and I don't have that. I'm connecting enough little gadgets to my rails that I'm jealous.

My budget was $10 for 4 mini tiedowns. I also used some T-nuts that slide into the rails to attach Wrap-It straps and a shovel bracket as a low budget but not as good as MOLLE option. Pictures are here in this past post.

3RD gens don't have the front rail - but you can order one from the 2nd gen that fits perfect with no drilling - holes and screws are already there - the oem rail is pretty stout too and got it for 38 at dealer ...... nice mod for your shovel too

I like the white lights of LEDs. On my observation, the direction/beams of the 3rd Gen LP lights are pointing on all sides and up to the backup cam. That’s why some of us are doing the mod after the led upgrade. I believe the 2nd Gens and other vehicles have more directional/focus lenses that points/shines directly to the LP. Some even have some sort of a louver…here’s an example.

How hard was it to install though? I was looking into that and passed because it looked like I had to squeeze my hand between the head rail and cab to get to the nut on the other end of the screw and I audibly said “yeah no fuck that.”
