    Received mine.
Never thought I'd say this about a license plate bracket... but man this is some high quality stuff right here.
Great material and craftsmanship. Gonna paint it black and slap her on, as soon as new jersey decides it doesn't want to be Alaska anymore

I wanted to see if there is any interest in this height adjustable hidden bracket. I am preparing to start production in my home shop for 2022 products. I have strictly been making 2nd gen, 3rd gen and FJ Cruiser seat spacers for the past few months and shelved the license plate brackets. If there is enough interest for the 2016-2022 front license plate replacement bracket assemblies then I will start making them again. Material costs have skyrocketed this year including a recent 25% increase in raw materials. The brackets would now be selling for $30-$32 shipped with fasteners. The only uncertainty is if the provided license plate screws will continue to be stainless like the assembly fasteners. They may be zinc coated steel. I have not priced those screws yet but am sure they also have increased in price.

I just ordered material to resurrect this license plate bracket. I have had several inquiries over the past year so I decided to make a limited amount of these. I have not kept up with TW or eBay pm's so if anyone is interested please let me know. I am starting with 9 or 10 brackets. The price is not yet determined however they will be the same former price or less. Shipping costs are in the $8 range so, I estimate, they shouldn't be more than $30 assembled with stainless fasteners and mounting hardware with shipping. I will post here first because they sold good on eBay but eBay charges sales tax increasing the price.

Just finished installing it. Really happy with it and I can use a frame now on my front plate. I ended up painting the bracket black to blend better. I did need longer screws to account for the frame and shield over the front plate. Shipping was fast and the product seems to be high quality. Thanks again.16B49D2F-6B7B-40D3-8E5C-AA6574F7B9E9.jpgD8558B05-222A-41F5-BF23-CF40A5EDF5AF.jpg

Just a heads up to current and potential owners of the bracket:

I had to replace my plates last night, and all four screws were galled so badly that I could not remove them.
I ended up cutting off the heads, drilling out the screws, and replacing them with nuts and bolts.

After I had cut off the heads, removed the plate, and removed the bracket, I cut slots into the backside of two
screws and tried using a big-ass screwdriver to undo them. They wouldn't budge.

I'll take responsibility, because I should have known to gob them up with with copious amount of anti-seize, but
    it totally slipped my mind.

TL/DR: Use anti-seize when installing the screws.

I see that you bought yours 4 years ago. I am very sorry to hear that. I use a dry-tap method when cutting the threads to keep the screws tight. Loose threads in aluminum are easier to strip if overtightened. Historically, when I sold hundreds of older style brackets 3 to 5 years ago, this was not an issue. The old 2 screw style brackets required removing the plate for automatic car washes and, to my knowledge, this never occurred. I cannot tell you how many times I removed my plate, for the car wash, with no issues. I will certainly add "apply anti-seize" to any future instructions. Regarding galling I do run screws in and out of every hole prior to shipping to assure no burrs in the holes. I use stainless screws. I now wonder if there is a counteraction of using stainless in aluminum (swelling, corrosion, etc). I always used stainless to prevent rust forming on the screw threads. I do apologize for this as it was certainly unforeseen. I could use cheap black plastic screws however I prefer using the best materials. Thank you for the informative post.
I have just now sent out numerous messages to other buyers warning them of this issue and recommending that they remove the screws and add anti-seize.

No worries at all. If the Wisconsin plates hadn't had their coating fail miserably, I never would have had to deal with it. :D

Being on the truck through four Wisconsin winters of salt covered roads might have also contributed to the issue.

Regardless of the cause I thought it wise to warn others of your issue. Salt is certainly a contributor and it also may induce corrosion of aluminum assembled with stainless. I still appreciate the business and care about the use of my products on other vehicles. I do not make many plate brackets now. It is good advice to use anti-seize and this was an oversight in my instructions. Thank you for posting.

Just SOLD the last one. Not sure if these will ever be made again. I do appreciate everyone that bought one of the versions of my 3rd gen Tacoma style license brackets over the years.

I wouldn't say never. If there becomes enough interest then I may make more. I may have enough parts to make a couple. If I do I will let you know. No promises.

I now have materials and will be making both versions of brackets. Once I get accurate shipping costs I will have concrete selling prices. Both brackets are fully hidden behind the license plate. Both brackets use stainless fasteners. Both include free shipping. Hope to have all brackets made by the end of June. I am bringing back the V2 full sized bracket as well as a modified version of my 2017 small bracket. Here are pictures with some brief descriptions.
CAR WASH COMPATABILITY: THE SMALL BRACKET IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE IN AUTOMATIC CAR WASHES. WHEN I USED THIS ON MY 3RD GEN I CARRIED A SMALL SCREWDRIVER IN MY TRUCK AND SIMPLY REMOVED THE PLATE PRIOR TO ENTERING THE CAR WASH. THE LARGER BRACKET IS SAFE IN AUTOMATIC CAR WASHES. PERSONALLY I NO LONGER USE AUTOMATIC CAR WASHES SO THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE.
The QF1A is the small bracket (est $23 shipped). Fully hidden behind the license plate. I sold hundreds of these for early 3rd gens. I have modified it to work on all 2nd gen Tacoma, all 3rd gen Tacoma, as well as any vehicle where the plate is mounted directly to the bumper. The bracket will still come with rubber isolators (new larger diameter isolators), and will still replace oem 3rd gen brackets. There is no drilling required as long as you have existing mounting holes in your front bumper. For 2nd gen trucks this will eliminate "chafing" and paint damage to your painted bumper from the plate resting and flexing against the bumper.bumper chafing.jpg
On 3rd gens this will do 2 things. It will replace the fugly plastic bracket and it will prevent further bumper cover paint damage caused by the oem bracket seen here. Note screws in this picture are longer than the currently used screws.
    2018_06240027 - Copy.jpg
    This is the small bracket:
    2nd 3rd mount.jpg
The large bracket is still a fully machined, assembled by tongue and groove fitting, and uses stainless steel fasteners with the same rubber isolators. This one will ship by Priority mail and the shipped price is expected to be $32.50. This is industrial grade and the assembly has no flex. It also is a direct replacement for 3rd gen oem brackets. It is height adjustable as noted in previous posts in this thread. For those needing to drill holes in their 3rd gen, or any vehicle with a plastic/rubber front bumper cover, for $1 extra, I will include a drill bit and a hole location template. This assembly is labor intensive however it is one of a kind. I am the only person making this bracket. Custom license plate frames work fine on this larger bracket.
    adj v2.jpg
This owner used the high mount. With the height adjustable mounting holes it can be lower to clear lower grille mounted light bars.

For those inquiring about a drill template your 3rd gen bumper should already be marked with factory "dimples" marking the drill locations. This is where my brackets mount on a 3rd gen.
