Yeah but what’s the breaking strength for the model? There’s the 250, 650 mid torque and 1000+ high torque. Plenty of stuff the 250 won’t break but the others will.

If you're in the shop full time, get the good stuff. Otherwise I tend to agree. Hence half my box being full of HF tools

@Sasquatch3153 well.... Which one is yours? :boink:

My grandpa and dad always drilled into me that when a project comes up and you need a tool that you don't have, always get the best that you can afford at the time if there is a chance that the tool will be needed again. For me, the best I could afford at the time ranged from HF to Craftsman to Tekton to Milwaukee to Wera for wrenching. A wrench from any one of em will get the job done.

What kinda ruined me was getting into woodworking. There is a world of difference between budget woodworking tools and the high-end stuff. This applies to both hand tools and power tools. I started out with budget used tools and have been gradually upgrading my arsenal to quality stuff from Powermatic, Festool, Laguna, etc. I now work faster, much safer and produce far better quality products.

How often have you regretted spending a little extra on a new tool?

Always wanted a Forrest table saw blade. Was told they were far and away the best. Worst $200 I can remember spending. Those $50 Freud's are WAY better than that fancy Forrest I purchased. That said, in 58 years this is an exception... However, still cannot tell the difference between a Craftsman and a SnapOn end wrench. When I was doing it for a living and now I cannot tell. But the expensive one looks nice...

Get one jammed on a frozen jam nut. You'll know.... The snap on won't bed or crack.

Heh. I have Freud blades in my table saw, 12" miter saw and circular saw. They are definitely a "best bang for your buck" type of blade. Never been able to bring myself to drop $200 on a Forest blade. Maybe someday when I have that $6K SawStop saw I'll pick up a half dozen of them and do a series of comparisons on my celebrity YouTube channel. Someday... :D

The first couple of times when I checked the “buy” button on my first Festool and Lie Nielsen tool, I thought I was making expensive mistakes. Then I started using them. Woah. I can easily do projects now that I thought I’d never be able to do. Worth every cent.

My Forrest table saw blade was only $150. By far the best blade I’ve ever owned.

    Well, yeah!

DeWalt are excellent tools. I think they're neck and neck with Milwaukee. I prefer Milwaukee (obviously), but I wouldn't switch over if you already have a bunch of DeWalt stuff you like.

Was it this one? @Sasquatch3153 ?

This was one of my favorite SNL characters of that time! Bill Hader cracking up made it even better. He does some really spot on impressions!

It's the Fuel one? I find it hard to believe. They are rated at 1400 lb/ft.
