My truck is shaking between 20 to 30 mph

how many times have you greased your driveshaft? If the answer is never, or its part of your lube techs multi-point inspection (also never), I'd start there.

 

is the shake during acceleration, decel, or coasting? we need more info

i think there's a TSB for that but if you haven't had this issue since recently, i don't think that's the problem

 

multi-point inspection is code for "we didn't really do anything but we want to make you feel better about your vehicle. our master tech kicked your tires a couple times"

 

What shims? Do you have pictures and parts number?

 

I did try the draft shaft and it cannot be moved at all, there is no wiggle room, or any play in it.

 

After lifting my truck 4", I had heavy vibration issues. Shims under my leafs fixed that, and the other vibration issue I had was when I damaged my drive shaft a few weeks ago. A new drive shaft fixed that. With the leaf shims, I also needed a carrier bearing spacer when I put the lift in. If it's not the needle bearings or tires, you'll want to start looking at your drive train. My vibrations were all self induced.

Never / part of your lube techs multi-point inspection I did not know this had to be done.

 

Shims are not a standard part number, rather an aftermarket component often installed in the rear with a lift. Many companies that will sell you a lift kit can also sell you shims, to help correct the change in driveshaft geometry from the lift. A carrier bearing drop kit also aims to correct that geometry but in a different area of the triangle.

Neither should be necessary if your suspension is stock.

 

It does, and its outlined in your owners/maintenance manual. I understand nobody ever truly goes by the book, but once in a blue moon is always better than never. And bc I know it will come up, anyone else reading this, OP has a 2016; yes, it needs to be greased. Newer models are sealed and cannot be greased, we know.

Because its never been greased, I'd start there. If that doesn't help any/the damage is already done, you can address it then. Do you have a grease gun?

You just eliminated your u joints then.

 

Let's revisit that transmission change now. Did you do it? If you did, correct fluid? If you paid jiffy lube I'd go back and ask what they used.

 

I’ve never greased my U joints before I never even knew this existed until now. The transmission oil change, I had a dealership do that for me.

 

Unless his springs are failing.

 

And then, the solution is to replace the leaf springs. Not add shims.

 

Wow everyone is going on some crazy tangent here lol. One step at a time . Once the OP does the rotation and if it’s still there then we can go into crazy mode. Most things like this end up being a simple obvious fix .

 

Torque converter shudder maybe

 

U joints often go tight before they go loose. The only actual way to check U joints is to remove the shaft and articulate the joint.
