My wife perfected gaming the system working in the ER. Shift differential, OT, incentive pay, holiday pay and she'd make over $100/hour. And she was crazy enough to ask me if I minded her working.

It was a Christmas Miracle* that I never got a bill for that visit!

Probably helped that she was working triage and took me back to the room to re-bandage what, apparently, I had done a sub-par job of.

Dang this thing is heavy. But I got it into place with the help of two neighbors.

This weekend I’ll install a new sub panel, get this wired up, and start running air lines.

That’s a different situation and job, so I don’t consider it the same. I too worked holidays for years, including a few seasonal “retail”. It’s completely different dealing directly with customers for minimum wage or within $10 of it. Worse yet, most of those retailers won’t pay any different for the day… except to not allow a formal break, but provide a potluck or prepared food.

If it didn't come with rubber pads for the feet you can get some bulk matting from TSC for the purpose, helps cut down on the noise and vibration.

I also had a local hydraulic shop make me an 18" high pressure hose with threaded ends for between the tank and piping for the same reason and also to make hook up easier. It didn't cost much, maybe $30 or so.

I'll agree to that one. We keep the building running so packages keep getting shipped out on time. It could be your loved ones medicine or medical equipment they need. Or it could be some pervs Bad Dragon toy, either way we gotta keep everything flowing. We only close Christmas and New Years day. They'll give some hours off for like 4th of July or Labour Day, but as maintenance we're using that very rare downtime to fix stuff.

Me and another co-worker actually came in last Christmas for about 4 hours to do a repair on a sorter. It was the best chance to get it done since the issue wouldn't hold off till the next break in sorts.

    Everything
that’s the plan. Pads for the feet and a flexible connection between the tank and piping.

I put the new Christmas tree up yesterday and just plugged it into my wifi plug in that also shows the amount of electricity used. If I'm crunching my numbers correctly, the new tree (9' tall LED) is drawing at most 48 watts, but down to 10 watts because it dims and changes colors. The old tree (7' incandescent) looked to be pulling about 325 watts. That's a heck of a difference in power consumption.

1.6 cents per hour vs 5.5 cents per hour (estimated, I don't know your rates) pretty decent savings.

Only thanksgiving I can remember working was last year. Did 12 hour days Thursday-Sunday. Ended up grossing about $4600 all in! Not a bad way to spend thanksgiving, but luckily this year I get to stay with my family instead.
