I've been running a 2.6 butcher (f) and a 2.3 eliminator (r) for the whole season and other than one front tire washout on a wooden bridge (operator error), I have zero complaints with the set up. Tires still have a ton of life left in them, but figure with that pricing its good to stock up.

Cheap way to test out tan walls for those on the fence as well (cough cough @Pugga).

Not my cup of tea, i have some brandy new Schwalbe's ready to go for the new bike. Magic Mary 2.6 up front, Big Betty 2.4 for the rear. Need to list and sell the old bike before i start stockpiking parts for the new one. Should be able to list it this year, hopefully.

I had a brand new Ground Control blow off the rim 100 feet in to a ride. I assume there was a defect with the bead and I got a full refund, but it left me pretty bitter about Specialized tires.

I had a Maxxis do the same on my Chameleon. Splooged sealant all over my car. I’m happy I wasn’t riding it at the time. Hope you didn’t crash.

No matter the reason once you have a failure like that, even if it's a one in a billion, you're soured in that brand forever.

I cut down a brand new Michelin tire twenty years ago and haven't bought one since.

I was just pedaling up the start of the climb so it didn't result in a crash or anything. It was extremely startling and blew sealant all over my buddy behind me.

Chain Reaction? Anyone ordered from this online site? The power meter pedals I am shopping for are about 100 bucks cheaper than anywhere else I can find and free shipping. I like saving money but I do not like rolling the dice.

I've ordered from Chain Reaction as have plenty of riders I know. They're legit. Only issue I've heard of is shipments occasionally getting held up at Customs.

They're legit but used to be much cheaper.

That $100 may be a wash (or worse) after paying taxes and duty.

If you're looking at Garmin pedals they won't be able to send them to the US anyway.

Will going from a 28tooth chain ring to a 32tooth require a new chain? I’m thinking yes, but don’t know for sure.

Also has anyone used the Raceface T2 half pad thing? I don’t load tailgate style much since I have a topper, but for $50 I may grab one.

Four teeth is a lot to do with the same chain. It's extremely likely you'll need a new one. That's assuming that your shifting is perfect as it is right now though and that your chain isn't too long.

No harm in trying it first though. But I'd put good money down that you'll end up with a new chain.

Chain Reaction is good. I've ordered from them a bunch of times.

A few other overseas shops that have unbeatable prices that I've ordered from are:

merlincycles.com - I just ordered an XT group from there and it arrived in 2 days... from Europe....
    probikekit.com
    wiggle.com

What bike is that? I'm going back and forth on whether or not to do tan walls on the ti Lynskey I'm about to build up. Do you have a full pic with the tan walls?

My thoughts too. Gonna try as is, but will plan to replace as well. Hate that little ring. Running out of gears is getting annoying.

Custom Ti hardtail. I bought it second hand and have tried like hell to figure out who made it with no luck.

I love the tan walls on it!

If this is going on your Evil, put on the new chainring, compress the suspension to bottom out, if it doesn't max out your RD then you should be good. You don't want to find out that the chain is too short at bottom out, at the bottom of your next drop.
