I’m looking at buying a used diff with a locker and I just need to know if there is a way to externally identify if the axle I’m looking at is equipped with the 8” Elocker or the 8.4” non-locked diff.

That is a good point, perhaps I’m in a little over my head. That’s never stopped me before though so I’ll continue on

FYI, you cannot swap the factory e-locker diff into a non-e-locker axle housing; they're different.

I misspoke in my original post, I’m picking up an entire rear axle, not just the diff. Still cheaper than buying the Eaton elocker for the 8.4 and then paying someone to install it.

    Gotcha.

That listing has a photo of the e-locker on the third member. See the plugs and such? Only the factory e-locker looks like that.

Eaton is going to be a better locker though

i just put this into my 8.4" diff from ECGS not only is it a stronger diff but i can engage it alot easier, the factory E locker is like solving a rubix cube while trying to engage it i just push a button and it engages with the Eaton.
