Sounds like an improvement over the 90s k2 binding that I have tried.

Nope, I never loved Hunter but skied it a bunch. I hate vail resorts and how they treat the employees and customers so they get none of my $. I have passes to Belleayre and Jiminy. I also have access through work to ski many other places.

Agree, Vail ruins everything they touch!

    Christmas came early, boys!!

Since these bindings are heavier, I'm considering putting them on my old Twin 53 (nice that the Nidecker disc fits 3D, channel and 4x!!)

Because this Custom Flying V 156 just feels so much heavier and the flying v is alot less controlled than the regular camber on the Twin 53.

Nevermind. these bindings are heavy. doesn't matter what you put them on. I hope the functionality is everything I hope for.

the other thing that I also forgot to consider is that even though you can use the easy-entry or the regular buckles (like if you''re on a steep or something), on my 'old' bindings, i reversed my straps so that the buckles were facing the middle. It's an easier reach between your feet (as compared to the outside of your feet) when you're old, stiff, and have injuries.

These hammock straps are asymmetrical, so I think they are designed to support the inner part of your foot/buckle outside.

As the saying goes, you'll never know until you try. Heading up for a day trip tomorrow.

Masshole here, grew up skiing Mt Tom and Berkshire East. Moved to Colorado for a while and made snow for Eldora Mtn. Back in Mass now and ready to rip on some new Volkl Blaze 94. Headed to Loon in NH in a couple weeks.

You got the new bindings, might as well spring for a new/newer board if you can. Snowboard technology has advanced ALOT over the years especially in weight reduction and response. Rocker/reverse/multi camber were all the rage a few years ago and still are but a lot of people and companies are reverting back to traditional camber, so should be plenty of full camber options out there for you if that’s the route you are looking to take. Also 30 yr old gear is old, brittle and the base is probably dry. Save the ‘95 as a collector though!

Just booked my airbnb for a trip out of state. 25 miles to Taos and 30 miles to Angel fire. Right in between the two so will get to split a couple days for both resorts. Should be getting some snow here monday and tuesday so home resort is on track to open the beginning of Dec hopefully and will get to get some days on the books to warm up my ankle. Recovering from surgery about a month ago and hope it holds up. Dr said I should be good to go tho.

I got a new board last year after riding the same Palmer board for 15+ years. The new board is a Burton family tree hometown hero. It’s great. I should have gotten a new board years ago.

Yes board tech has come a long way since the 90s. I started out on a purchased rei rental with the rubber bumpers at tip and tail. That thing rode like a 2x4. On newer boards the flex and edge traction is much better

I splurged on a nice one, 11 years ago (Arbor Element) and it is still faster than almost everyone who I ride with. Everytime I am ready to get something new I reflect on this. Then when I see the prices of a board of similar caliber (Arbor, Never Summer) or better, I quickly lose interest.
