I usually make a few Christmas gifts and this is the first one to get things started

 

I needed a rolling workbench and used whatever lumber I had in the yard barn (except for the top), which was mistake number 1. I didn't realize how bowed the 2x4's were. Got it together then had to take most of it back apart and reassemble, checking for square on every piece. Trying to find lumber that's dry and straight for the last few years around here is tough. But it's square and level now.

 

I think that it’s the same everywhere. I have to go to the custom hardwood store to find anything that resembles being straight. Local lumber yards are chocked full of crap lumber. I can’t imagine being a contractor right now

 

I need that too!

 

Starting to work on a Christmas list and finding that its likely going to be full of tools this year.

 

I've wondered how square any houses are that have been built in the last few years, especially the ones that go up in a week.

It probably is. It’s older than I am. It’s served our family for many many children. I think most of the recalled aspects were addressed by my dad a while back. Thanks for the links!
