I plan on going out the 8th to around greer to cut my first tree ever. Any advice? Any reference material on how to make sure the tree is healthy and safe for the drive back?

Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
Wife and I are holding off until the 3rd to avoid crowds, but I'll probably save the trips North for just me and the dog.

Checking out Kofa for the first time so she won't suffer too badly.

I lol'd at this. Still got my Warn on the way :anonymous:

Depending on the type of tree youre looking for I can hook you up around that area with my honey hole of blue spruce. Lots of good trees around that area. Otherwise most the trees are pretty damn healthy so I usually just bring a tarp to wrap it up in and strap it into the bed.

We dont know where yet @KingOfTheNorth ... probably one of our quick/close spots for a overnighter or somethin. Just want to take advantage of the time off and chill for a bit. Especially since last weekend and the 3 days of Disneyland weren't really relaxing. lol fun as shit tho.

Yeah that is our plan aswell. Something close just to get out and get the pups out. Probably going to head out to big lake area grab a tree and also get cut some firewood for the house. Have a bon fire cook some food.

On a side note booked the airbnb last night. We are headed to Taos and Angel fire in feb for some riding. Todd booked his flight down to join us. Going to be a fun trip!

Yeah I hope it is. Will be nice to just get out.

I have never been to angel fire or taos. Driven by multiple times but never gone. We were supposed to go to Purgatory but Todd couldnt get a flight to Durango with his points so we switched it up. No biggie tho. Will be fun no matter what and I am just happy to see him.

We’re going to be coming back up early December for our tree too. First year our daughter can actually walk around the woods so that should be fun.

I would be interested in the blue spruce hook-up if you are willing to share. I think I am headed up that way on Friday.

I have had mine too for a bit now. Cant beat the price tag of cutting your own vs buying from a lot.

The trees last way longer as well. Last time I bought from a lot, it was dead in a couple weeks.
