I hope this post helps someone... I looked through TW for months searching for a definitive answer to the question, "will 265/75r16 rub on a stock 3rd gen tacoma with 16x8in rims with -12mm offset and 4.00in backspacing (SCS BR6, Ray 10's, SR8's)?"

I know this is a very case by case question because there are many factors at play like which brand/model tire you decide to go with, how much weight is on your truck, what rims you have, rim offset, if you run spacers etc...

So my truck has billie bars, pelican gun case, TRD skid plate, Toyota oem ski rack, prinsu rack, ditch lights for weight, tires I went 265/75r16 BFG KO2's (I know its overkill and I just don't care, its my truck and that's what I wanted), Im on stock TRD off road suspension, and I have SCS BR6 wheels 16x8 -12mm offset 4.00" BS.

The answer to the question does it rub, in my case yes, it rubbed in full lock going in reverse going through some large snow potholes, I live in buffalo and we just got 7 feet of snow. In order to address the rubbing I trimmed a very small piece of plastic at the bottom of each of the front wheel wells, and used a heat gun to massage the fender liners, I now have no more rubbing.

Thanks for sharing. I too had the VLED license plate light on my short list, but after seeing this I may need to reconsider. Do you have any pictures of the light output? Any issues with the install? Thanks!

Yeah, I don't plan on doing anything more intense beyond a weekend fishing trip or tailgate camping. At most, a very easy trail ride, but I'm not going crawling by any stretch. If I was, yeah, I'd consider an upgrade, but nothing right now to justify the TRD (or any other high cost aftermarket upgrade) skid. I posted on the tacoma subreddit, and got mildly annoyed at a few comments that seemed to be based in some elitist mentality... But hey, my truck my rules, lol.

So I used a bic lighter to heat the light brackets. Tore off the 3 m backing hit it again with the lighter and pressed for 20 seconds. It’s in the sun now. Job done I hope

Added a Rockford Fosgate T1S2-10 in an Audio Enhancers Ported Enclosure built for the Tacoma. Super tight fit.

I or “we” really like this! You just gave me an idea on what to do with my boring TRD skid. Hope you don’t mind me “copying” this idea. Mine will only be two tone…but I’ll have to wait till’ spring.

Just received my Yotaverse Trd Pro grille replica and it has a broken tab straight out of the box. To anyone who sees this and has been in the same situation is 1 broken tab a big deal? Does 1 broken tab really affect it that much?

Edit #1: I installed it and it seems sturdy. IMO I think 1 broken tab is not really a big deal and doesn’t appear to affect the sturdiness of it.

Half of my Goose Gear order was delivered yesterday so I installed half of it today. Sound deadening took the most time. Doesn't come with instructions but it's pretty easy to figure out.

I have to agree with the wireless option. In my case it is Android Auto and I just did the mod on Sunday and already would not ever want to go back. Get in the truck and Android Auto boots right up and my phone is displayed on the head unit. It is a simple plug and play mod. The picture below is my set up but you can also pull the head unit and run a new cable to plug the unit into and keep it all behind the dash. I may yet do that but did not have the time. I simply plugged in the unit and used a piece of double sided tape to secure it to the upper wall of the charging tray. I also am now able to keep my phone on the charging tray and actually use it. The unit is a Motorola MA1. $90 bucks on Amazon. Plug it in and pair it with your phone and it is up and running.

Expanded my storage today. I need to credit tacoma world but forget who posted it. Two low profile tool/storage boxes from Walmart fit in the back seat footwells with the jumpseats folded up and create a platform. Cooler sits in the middle and now the full space behind the seat can be used for storage. They do keep the seats from going back a bit but not too much to notice.20221123_142122.jpg 20221123_142103.jpg

    Oh look, another mod....

Pop it back off and spray paint it a gloss black. It will really make it pop, plus it will get rid of the grey-ish in it. Others on this site have done it and it really looks good (in my opinion).
