I know what you mean- its not even worth it to get a used one i dont think- they can have a bunch of miles on them and be just a couple of grand off-

I got mine new- er... 54 miles on it. I got it for $29,000 out the door. Thats with 7% sales tax and tag and title fees.
I got RIGHT on the trade- they gave me $500 under blue book good condition and check this out:

    -cracked rear wheel
    -Cylinder 5 misfire
-bad control arm bushings (car treks the road horribly)
    -bent control arm
-a/c goes on and comes off (just happened to be working)
-front shock boot off and collecting dirt
-rear window inoperable (window regulator bad)
-water leaks into cabin around rear light
    - oh my gosh so many more little things here and there

And look, im a good guy- i told them that thing was a SERIOUS POS

    This is on a 02 BMW 330i !!! a 2002!!!!
I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BMW......

Glad you finally got your Taco. I'd like to officially welcome to the site as a new Taco owner!

BTW, i completely agree with you regarding the quality of BMW's. The new BMW's are nothing but rolling piles of sh!t. However, back in the day they made one hell of a car. I had a 1990 325i with well over 200k on it and i didnt have a fraction of the problems you listed. Over the years they started adding more "luxury" options and became less and less reliable. As soon as my brother pays me for the Beamer he wrecked i'll definately be buying another 90 or 91 325, but i'll never buy a newer one.

Hey guys- they gave me an 07 crewmax tundra w/ the 5.7 and 4x4 and TRD. Its pretty cool- but i want my TACOMA!!! Anyhow, after it didnt come in last night- i was a little curious why I did not hear from anyone today- I called my salesperson to get the VIN for insurance and she couldnt give it to me! The truck they had "secured" me was not in fact "secured" and is gone- they told me they found another one and that it should be in tonight or tommorrow. They said it may be an 08. I asked about the price difference and they said they do not know yet- I said i would not pay a higher price. I am waiting to see what happens- suggestions?

Yo, for what it's worth, I can back up ndcouch's price. I got a 2007 V6 4X4 TRD Offroad, with Towing Package (doesn't have the disc changer or an alarm - as I recently found out). My price, out the door was $26,900.

I basically did what he did as far as acting like a dick, and making them work for me (runs in the family - my dad once walked away from a deal on a truck over $100 after writing a check and tearing it up because they wanted $100 more than his offer - he's a real ass to dealers).

I do live in SC like him, but I don't think the price would differ that much from region to region.

They did the exact thing to me. They "secured" a vehicle and i filled out all the paperwork and gave them an un-dated check for 2k to secure my purchase (i had to do that or they wouldnt have traded out of state and brought it in) Anyway, when i called about it the day it was suppose to be at the dealer, they said it wasnt there and that they had lost it. They said it must have been sold the same night i filled out the paper work. Needless to say i was pretty pissed off. Anyway i had to wait a few extra days while they found another one, but they eventually got it to me for the same price. I did have to go back and fill out more paper work. But i agree, i dont think you should pay any more for it than your original deal. The 08's are only about $180 more than the 07's anyway.

Yeah, you guys from SC dont pay sales tax tho! Im actually getting mine for about what you did- about $200 more.

I am getting mine for $27,100 but when you add our 7% sales tax it comes to $28,997 or approx. $29,000

    Sales tax is a biotch!

Why dont you buy my truck for me! lol:p

I was really surprised at how fast they are. I assumed my truck would be quicker since it was smaller..... i was wrong. That thing is still fast even when towing 7k lbs. I dont want one but they sure are impressive.

So you're from greenville? you still in the area or did you just grow up here? You need to join the Alliance!

I feel ya man- I JUST picked up my new Tacoma! Dude I am so happy right now. I will post pics tomorrow! My g/f likes it more than the tundra too. I was SO glad to drop off that big A$$ tundra. It was not my style at all- to daddy(ish) or something.

Yeah i was born in greenville and grew up there before school- then would come back a lot to visit family. My sister lives there now and I am thinking of moving back in the next month or so- greenville rocks

As in any purchase we make, we as consumers want to pay the least amount possible. If you are bound and determined to have the new car smell, then your in the neighborhood of what the going price is, if not, you can save a ton of money buying slightly used, as in my case. I bought a 2006 4 door SR5 six speed with 8000 miles from e-bay and saved about $4000. Regardless what you spend, if you buy a Tacoma you will get your money's worth.

08 std cab 4x4 with BZ trim - $18,000 before taxes & tag, which was $500 below invoice with the the rebate. These trucks move FAST in Colorado so getting any kind of deal was sweet. Going in a couple days before Christmas helped - the showroom was deserted.
