    Then they round the stupid nut over and grab the channel locks and it spins right off.

    I was able to get a 6 point on the bleeder, tried left then right back n forth then snap! Then vise grips , then heat, then cut off wheel, then drill....... now new caliper , I like to replace them in pairs but at this mileage and year I'm going to roll the dice and just do 1.

    I saw this in Warminster while running an errand for work. Unless this is a heat pump or the furnace failed and both units had to be replaced, it's an odd time to be replacing a central air-conditioner...

    Yeah, but unless the furnace failed or this was a heat pump (pretty all of the houses on this road have natural gas), there's no point in replacing the air-conditioner. I'd be worried about getting an accurate reading while charging the new unit...

    Maybe he got a deal on a new unit, or could have been sitting for a while and waiting for scrap price to go up to unload? is that box van the contractor who installed? I would think early fall would be ideal for AC replacement/repair work myself. Not too hot but can get warm enough to test the system out.
