Ready to pull the trigger on my lift/wheel/tire combo, but need some help. I am going to purchase 17" KMC Lobos, Falken Wildpeaks 275/70R17 and budget a 2/1" combo.

I would like barely/minimal tire exposure wider than the fenders, but definitely some. Is there an offset that would work?
I had the Bilstein 5100's on my tundra and thought they were great. What all do I need to purchase to accomplish a 2/1 lift with the bilstein setup, likely AAL rear?

Thanks in advance! I know there's tons of info here and it's easy to analysis paralysis. I felt like this would be easier to specifically address my questions.

    Enough for now
Either an AAL or 1” block to go under the leaf springs

17x9 -12 with 275/70/17 might be what you’re looking for.

If you want very little poke, like mentioned. I would go with zero offset, if offered in that wheel.

Looks like it comes in -10 or +18. The -10 would sit slightly tucked in more than yours, correct?

I have pretty much the same set up you are talking about. There are a bunch of "better" options out there but the Bilstien 5100s with Old Man Emmu 885 springs (set at zero) up front and a progressive AAL in the rear (with the helper spring removed if you don't want a lot of rake) has been a great set up for the money. It has a firm ride without being bouncy....stays planted to the road. It works great for mild off roading. It fits 275s perfect. I have actually done this on 3 new Tacos (mine and 2 friends) and all have been very happy. IMO it is how these trucks should look and ride from the factory.

As far as wheel offset thats up to you. I am running zero. The tires sit right at the edge of the flares. I had a set of -10 wheels on there for a while and ended up selling them to a 4runner buddy and went back to 0......but thats a personal preference.

This Tacoma does't get the crap beat out of it but I have built other Toyotas that were wheeled pretty hard. For an all around great set up on a somewhat affordable budget it is a set up that is pretty hard to beat!

Like I said, there are a lot of great options out there and this is just my opinion. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Zero offset will get you pretty close to flush, maybe a little out from flush.

    Budget lift…

Stock front coil spring with a Bilstein 5100 on the 3rd or 4th notch, with a 1” rear block. If you gets vibes in the rear, get a cheap carrier bearing spacer.
you do not need a diff drop kit.

No, the front is not as “stiff” as everyone says. And No, the rear does not ride like crap like everyone says.

Appreciate everyone's help here! About to pull the trigger on 5100's up front and debating on tire size, ha! The KMC wheel will be 17x8.5 -10 offset. I'm debating between Falkens at 275/70 (6ply) or 285/70 (4ply or 6ply). Does anyone have any insight or experience on fit/appearance?

    Looks awesome. Thanks!

Seems like this is the safe consensus. I just wonder if adding .5” more height in tire will be as seamless and whether a 4 ply is to be considered.
