Aka - he overpaid for the ARB before seeing this thread and felt the need to pointlessly justify spending far more than he needed to

This thread spans 73 pages over 4 years - I'd say that 'junk' is holding up just fine.

Installed mine 3 years ago, no issues. Not even sure how it could have issues.

Bragging rights with strangers on a truck forum or an extra $400 in my pocket for gas, hmmm…

Yeah, I’ll stick with my counterfeit Chinese junk. You should definitely get some sort of patch to commemorate your snorkel authenticity though. It’s a big deal.

Somewhere in Australia there is a business making these snorkels for ARB. Someone in China steals the design, and benefiting from low salaries, horrendous labor and environmental practices, and government subsidies, makes a counterfeit for a quarter of the price. I chose to support the Australian business over the Chinese one.

How's the air up there on your high horse? While I agree supporting the original company that created and manufactures the product is great, not everyone has the budget to be able to do so. But just calling it "junk" when it's a perfectly long lasting and functional option is nothing but political bias.

    Ouch.
I've enjoyed following your build thread and lending assistance where I could with your questions... until now. The above is quite telling and not cool at all. Enjoy your build.

It does seem that it is lasting and functional, so I agree w/ that part.

I choose to support my household finances over a snooty company that WILDLY over charges for their product.

$500 for a snorkel? LMFAO... that's just stupid. I might have paid $200 for the ARB, but $500? No... Fuck ARB.

Not everybody can be a savvy buyer, and I have accepted my fate. Wait until y'allz hear about my other ill-judged purchases.

On another note, ARB is a serious company that makes good products for the overlanding community, and we all benefit from that. So, let's keep some perspective, and not cross THAT line.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all.
