Princess Auto sells the hitch shackle adapter with D-ring shackle cheaper than anywhere else. I ran this one for 4 years: https://www.princessauto.com/en/5-ton-hitch-mount-tow-shackle/product/PA0008598377

The hitch scrapes often off-road, so a steel shackle adapter will be more durable than an aluminum adapter, but you can mitigate this by keeping the shackle and adapter in your toolbag until you're ready to hook up a rope to it.
