What do you all do for a living?

I’m in Chicago Burbs(worked out of our corporate office). Most recently I worked in our Sourcing division. It’s been a good company, they did what they had to do. Time to move on. Started off in the warehouse, went into sales(inside/outside), worked on our Keepstock team for a few years then Sourcing.

 

Currently DOD contractor as an Avionics Tech on the MQ8-C Firescout unmanned helicopter , 15 years active duty Navy.

 

we had the MQ-B's up until last month. good riddance to that airframe haha

I worked on the TV broadcast crew, primarily with NASCAR, for the last 12ish years. Did a handful of football games, dabbled in hockey, and last year worked with CBS on the inaugural season of SRX racing. This year, I started a new career directly with NASCAR as an official, working with the pit road camera system that monitors all activity on pit road during a race or qualifying or practice sessions. I don't call penalties, I just make sure the system is operating properly, and make video clips of pit stops. I love it! My boss is cool, coworkers are awesome, and I already know everyone from being around them for my entire tenure on the broadcast crew, so it's like all I did was switch offices and uniforms.

 

As of right now in the summer I weed whack in ditches for the local county highway department and then mow lawns/landscaping for people. That entails weed whacking around signs, markers and stuff as the mowers cant get close to them. I'm also the guy that scoops dead possum and drags the dead deer off the road. In the winter I do snow removal.

25 years as active duty Materials Management in the USAF--retired in 2011.

Currently at my 8th civilian job assignment (Surgical Materials) since retiring...and it's the longest tenured--6years!

Noteable mention...worked for the Boeing Company for 2.5 years supporting the QF-16 Program before getting this hospital gig.

 

I said it with a grin, but it is in fact what I get paid to do.
